Yeah, it is Saturday night and here I am dumpster diving again.

The 2009 IDSA guidelines for diagnosing and treating candidemia includes information concerning chronic infections.

It also states urine tests are acceptable, preventative measures are allowed, 6-12 months of therapy are approved with a choice of a variety of medications and it describes different modes of acquiring the infections, etc.

Too bad these authors weren't given Lyme disease as their topic.

But then, their disclosed Conflicts of Interest list is so long it's frightening.

Are there any IDSA members who don't have major conflicts of interest?

It also addresses how to treat catheter infections for cancer patients, a problem (catheter infections) the IDSA Lyme guideline authors claim is a big reason why Lyme patients shouldn't receive IV antibiotic therapy.

What is good for the goose, isn't good for the gander?
