Last September I woke up 100% deaf in my right ear.... Come to find out many months later of course its Lyme.
Now don't get me wrong, I have learned to live with the loss and if I never get it back I would be OK with that, but I do wonder what are the chances I could get it back?? I know some nerve damnage can recover with Lyme treatment and am wondering if it would the same with my hearing??
Wouldn't that be amazing if I got it back!!

Abstract We report a case of bilateral sensorineural hearing loss of two years duration which appears to have been due to late Borrelia burgdorferi infection.
The 39-year-old woman presented with bilateral deafness and multiple other neurological complaints some six months after developing a `target' lesion on the lower leg after walking in the New Forest.
Serology for Borrelia burgdorferi became positive and the patient made a complete recovery from both her deafness and her other neurological problems after a five-week course of oral antibiotic therapy.

If you change your headline to be more specific you might get more readers who are tuned to matters of ears - and repair.
I also have read that hyperbaric oxygen therapy can help reverse deafness. (Although, it can also be problematic for those who have trouble withstanding pressure).
Whatever, with treatment for the offending agent, I'd say you should still have hope and pursue the experts who may know more about how to make this happen.

It is always possible that anything you "lost" due to lyme can return with good lyme treatment.
I lost a lot of things in the 5 to 15 years I had lyme, and I got everything back once I got rid of lyme, babs, and bart.
For example, I got my periods back, I got normal sleep back, I got my energy and endurance back, my normal vision and hearing back, the tears in my eyes and the saliva in my mouth came back, my normal brain and memory came back, I got rid of trigeminal neuralgia, unbearable burning sensation in the jaw, and all the strange sensations such as burning skin, pins and needles, etc.
Look out! I am BACK!!!!
I also had bells palsy (bilateral facial drooping) for 3 years prior to my diagnosis and one day I woke up and it was gone. All prior to treatment.
So, if that can happen, the auditory nerve can certainly begin working normally again at any time.
I hope you are with a Burrascano doc. That is what I mean by "proper lyme treatment." If so, I expect you will see your symptoms resolve one by one until you are eventually symptom-free.
I think a Burrascano doc would expect your hearing to come back, but this is just my guess. I have never discussed that with my doc. I just had some periods of hypersensitivity to sound, so the subject of reversing deafness was never touched on during my treatment.

Assuming it IS the Lyme & you've only started proper treatment in the last few months, I suspect you'll fully recover your hearing. Any sudden serious hearing loss- w/ age- in the family? (rare) Are you elderly? If NO to both, I would really be surprised if it didn't return.
