Our 24 year old daughter has chronic lyme, untreated yet. She is seriously debilitated. We have a long wait for her infectious disease specialist appt.
In the meantime, her family doc will prescribe doxycillin, but we have questions about the appropriate dosage and length of treatment. Can anybody give us some info?
thanks

Have you looked into seeing an LLMD?

Richard... There are a few LLMD's in Mass if you can't get in with one maybe you should try another.... Who are you waiting to see? Just post initials not names... Cannot post Dr names here

I AM ON IV DOXY 400MG. I THINK ORAL DOSE WAS THE SAME.

400 to 600 mg per day depending on body size - the idea is to saturate the body. And with Doxy it is more important to take the large dose than it is to take it consistently - somewhere I read that with Doxy it is good to let it ebb and then hit the spirochetes hard again. I take every weekend off.
