How about cold medicine?

I'm just getting over a nasty sinus infection and remembered I have been using Afrin to breath.

Have been using it longer than it is recommended, because I haven't been able to kick the sinus infection to the curb and I absolutely have to breath through my nose when sleeping.

Anyone have wierd depressive symptoms when using cold medicine?

Thanks so much!

Anytime you have "weird" symptoms of any kind from something you do not need to actually live, it's best to stop.

There may be other ways to work with your breathing.

Allicin capsules really help me. Propping up during times of congestion also helps (but you are probably already doing that).

Being sure your bedroom is free of dust and any chemicals like room deodorizers, perfumes, and dry cleaning residue, etc . . .

Removing any down or feathered pillow or linens, etc.

. . . .

Stinging nettle is a supplement that helps me breathe better, too.

Nasal irrigation or spraying a Sea Salt spray that most pharmacies carry . . . etc.

Keebler,

If I knew what was causing these unusual wierd depressive symptoms that have just occured within the last few months, I would certainly stop taking whatever it was. I'm looking for a culprit and asking if anyone else has adverse effects from cold medicine (like Afrin)?

Thanks for the lead on Allicin, I'll do some research on that one. This breathing thing is a real issue for me as I seem to have chronic sinus blockage and there isn't enough air up here at 5000 ft. above sea level! I'm currently treating yeast aggresively. It's an ongoing battle on so many levels, I just need this dark cloud to blow away so I can keep up the fight.

Two products that I think may help with the clogged sinus issues

1- Xlear-Its made from Grapefruit seeds and can be found in any healthfood/vitamin store. Its a nose spray.

2- Neti pot, haven't used one myself but my sister swears by it and she has major allegery/sinus issues.

Hope this helps. Feel better

Melissa
