when they take a culture, and check for bacteria, do they test it against abx to see which abx will work against it? I can't figure out, after an endoscopy, and stool anaylsis, they did not find e. coli in me, until they took a culture from my private area, and then found it. I have symptoms in GI tract, which now spread to private area, so that is why another doc I went to took a culture and found e. coli. I am betting this e.coli is cuasing my GI problems. But how could they have missed it during an endoscopy?

The e coli could be colonized more in your intestines, the endoscopy only goes as far as your stomach-the stomach acid may neutralize the e coli there. E-coli is very common in the intestines
