Today I went with a friend to her appointment for electrodermal screening for lyme, coinfections, parasites, etc...

I was very interested to go since it sounded like what many of you do here on lymenet with the biotensors or pendulums, etc... Also, my friend knew of two people who were put in complete remission by this approach at this office.

The woman who did the screening is formerly a registered nurse who now treats lyme and some cancer patients. She uses this machine that is attached to a computer and apparently commonly used in other countries besides the US (she said there were probably only 100 machines in the US. It is able to determine through using our body's meridians whether we have certain infections or parasites.

Apparently Dr. Fred Lam is one of the leaders in this approach and is head of the American Association of Acupuncture and Bio-energetic Medicine. When I looked up his name I found a Warning Letter was sent to him in 2008 from the FDA!!

My friend had to hold a cylindar attached to the machine and then the nurse would touch different points on the body to see what the computer said.

At the end of the appointment, she put her herbs and homeopathic medicine on the machine and tested my friend to see if they were appropriate. It was amazing to see how the machine changed its reading when one of the herbs was removed from the machine.

This machine can show where areas are blocked in the body indicating the presence of very specific things like babesia, worms, molds, viruses, yeast, bartonella, thyroid problems, allergies, etc...

My friend apparently had many of the various worms, as well as ehrlichia, bartonella, babesia, lyme, and thyroid and adrenal issues. The testing showed that her left side was weaker, and my friend confirmed that was correct. She noticed her left arm was much weaker lately from the lyme.

It was really amazing to see what this machine found. If this is for real, then why would we ever even bother with blood tests, particularly in this area where the testing is so unreliable?!

And why isn't this being studied or talked about more? I guess this just confirms my now jaded view of our traditional medicine.

Anyway, the nurse claims to be able to eradicate these infections by various herbs and homeopathic medicine normally in about 9 months. This is where I get a bit skeptical, as I know how complicated this recovery process is from reading many posts here and have heard that many need both antibiotics and herbs to get well.

She said that it is essential to eradicate parasites, as that can really help take out other toxins in the body with them. She uses something called Parablast for this.

Anti-yeast treatment was needed in my friend's case and the nurse uses grapefruit seed extract for that. Agrisept-L is the brand.

She needed treatment for Epstein Barr and was given EVTOX, which I think is a homeopathic med.

She recommended samento, cumanda and burbur to treat the lyme, ehrlichia, and bartonella.

Apparently the grapefruit seed extract can also get rid of the babesia in addition to the yeast?!! She uses the same Agrisept-L as mentioned above.

Also things were given to help her body become more alkylne rather than acidic. Thyroid supplements or homeopathic meds were also given.

The nurse said that antibiotics can help reduce the infections but can also push them deeper into the tissues and you cannot eliminate the infections with only antibiotics. The herbs apparently do not have these problems.

Well, that's my summary of the appointment. I would love comments about this diagnostic tool as well as her treatment approach.

Thanks!

i spent 600 on that. after i wrote the check she told me...oh , by the way, don't get the herbs near a cell phone or fridge or car dashboard or computer of microwave....etc

she said if you put them in your pocketbook with your cell phone when you gget home they will be worthless.

she sort of joked about how "stupid" ppl were to do this and ruin the meds...but she didn't tell me until i was almost out the door.

plus-they stored the herbs and stuff on and all around the computer!!!

the report was interesting...but what good is it if you have to protect the herbs from all electrical current and wirelless???

i started to use the stuff and did not notice any change

I was tested on the QXCI bioenergetic computer about 7 yrs ago. Interestingly enough it confirmed every thing that I had tested positive for through my LLMD.

So for me it was confirmation that the blood work was correct. The bottom line though, is what produces results whether it's antibiotics, antiparasitics, herbs, salt/c etc.

I think this nurse is on the money with the parasites and worms and how important it is to get rid of them. They do protect the bacteria. I like her approach and protocols.

I have done many different protocols and I am 80-90% better, but it has taken me 3yrs. Actually 10 yrs from the time I got dx.

As with any protocol, persistence is the key and I would be intersted to see how long it takes for your friend to get well. I think her tx sounds very good as well. Given the severity of these infections, I am skeptical about the 9 mos. Keep us posted,

Gael

Well, I spent over $10,000 on various tests & treatments & they didn't seem all that much more accurate than a recent test I had done with the Asyra (which seems similar to the device you mentioned).

The Asyra test was $45 & it may actually be more accurate than all the standard blood tests I had done.

I'm still just in the beginning stages of the treatment with the homeopathic remedies. So, I don't know for sure if it's going to make me well.

These devices may put the labs out of business.

EAV or electro acupuncture by voll is probably the technique this machine is based on. There are probably a dozen or more different versions of these type computer programs out there. Multiply that 100 you were told by 12 or so and that might give you an idea of how many of these gadgets are in the U.S. already.

Depends a lot on the person doing the reading as to the accuracy. A few actual M.D's use these devices, but generally they are found in chiropractic and other alternative medical offices.

Hubby has had this done several times. Can't say that it worked out all that great.

If you are really sold on this idea then go see Dr J who wrote the book -- Beating Lyme Disease. Looks like he is getting ready to release the 2nd ed of his book. Want to add that Dr J is a chiropractor and not an M.D.

Dr J has his own device (his invention) based on similar principles. I can't ever remeber the name of the gadget. Definitely did not work for hubby and from what I have seen on other forums I personally don't think his sucess rate with tickborne patients is that great.

Based on hubby's experiences with these type readings I personally think it is hit and miss about the same as with antibiotics.

Hocus pocus, tickbattler. Atleast that's My opinion. This comment that 'lp' said about the nurse saying [& I paraphrase],"OH... the cellphone will render the herbs worthless" is a tip-off.
If those 'electrodermal' kon-trap-sheeuns were accurate AT ALL , 1 would be in a special guarded room at the Eliot. Trust me. [Wink]

As soon as anyone says, "oh... & this machine can take care of cancers, too", run the other direction as fast as you can.

(Not to say that there aren't some machines using fancy computers, electricity & sensors that aren't simply a-m-a-z-i-n-g as to what they can accomplish.)

"ARE simply amazing" (whoops!)

You shouldn't put anything homeopathic very near or on anything electrical. However, I don't know how close is too close. So maybe in the office they were close to the computer, but still far enough away that it wouldn't make a difference.

I always interpreted it that homeopathy should just not be VERY near or on top of something electrical.

Herbs, however....that should be fine, I would think! Only homeopathy applies to this rule, based on everything I've heard. I don't see how wavelengths would affect an herb's potency, unless it's homeopathic.

Note, I'm not an expert at this at all, but I've used homeopathy in the past, and still do. I keep them in a cuppord so they don't end up on top of something electrical by mistake. I also take antibiotics though.

My thing about these machines is....okay, so it tells you what you have. But how do you know what is accounting for your symptoms?

What if the one thing that IS accounting for your symptoms, the computer isn't "programmed" to find?

Even if you were to assume that this machine is accurate with its' diagnosises, and also accurate at finding the right treatment for those things, those could be common things in the population, at the possibly minute concentrations it's picking these things up at.

So even if you "cure" every problem it finds, how do you know if found what's making you sick?

And if the treatment pushes down the Lyme....okay, but for how long? Are the results lasting, or would another machine find Lyme again in a few months after treatment is stopped?

Those are some questions I would ask myself. I don't have a bias one way or the other with these machines, but those are things to keep in mind I suppose.

Put my faith and money into that (and many other things) before I finally took antibiotics and improved.

Some of the other things, like nosodes ("prescribed" through the method you describe) did help, or so I thought, temporarily but by the end of my treatment, when the compute said I was cured, I was sicker than ever. They refused to accept that though because the computer said I was well!

Save your money.

Dr, Cowden uses the Asyra.

Some people feel he knows what he's doing.

Tickbattler, I may have seen the same lady as you for the electrodermal screening. She used to work for the VA. The technology is from Germany.

She indicated many issues for me including 3 strains of borrelia, heavy metals, many kinds of parasites, etc.

I didn't have money to really follow her treatment recommendations at the time and I live far away from her. I later got back on antibiotics and got to a point that taking almost anything increased brain fog, slow thought processes, trouble with coordination, etc.

What she had told me influenced me to then focus on getting out the amalgam fillings, root canals, and doing the cavations. I finished the major dental work last month and can think much more clearly and am much more optimistic now.

I think the cost of the electrodermal screening was worth it for me, but do not know how well the supplements she recommended would have worked. What she recommended did influence me later on what I got.

Also, I wouldn't get too excited by a wide variety of parasites. I think healthy people have a number of those.
