UUUGGHH! I thought this thing was gone! Woke up and its back and I am having a little trouble breathing... Not 911 trouble but feeling a little short of breath!
Could be nerves from worrying about the rash I guess...

Thats what I thought the last time but my LLMD says no.... He did a CBC to check for reaction, but by the time I had the blood drawn the rash was gone...
I had taken a few days off from my meds and it went away. Now I have been back on them for about 5 days and its back! I don't know anymore, this whole thing sucks!

The fact that you started taking meds, got a rash, stopped taking meds, rash went away, went back on meds, rash came back... kinda suggests there is a medication allergy going on here.
You should really call your doc (immediately) and let him know that the rash came back when you started back up on the meds, and that you are having trouble breathing.
With the breathing issue, I would be reluctant to take any more of anything until a doc is consulted, and I would keep benadryl on hand.

I wouldn't take any more of that med. The reaction could get worse each time you take it. Do you have an Epi pen?

No I don't have an epi pen... And I am growing more and more concerned... I took my AM meds and it definitely got worse! Coincidence??? I don;t think so.
My father in-law has an epi pen and lives very close by, if I needed it would it be OK to use someone elses? I know thats probably a dumb question but.....

Did you hear from your doc yet? I'd ask him about the epi pen while you've got him on the phone. You could also try calling your pharmacist (who should always be there!!) and ask his for his/her guidance.
I would NOT take any more of your medication!! If your airways close up, you won't have time to run to your father-in-laws for the epi-pen. (forget about figuring out how to use it!)
As someone above said, when you develop an allergic reaction to something, your body's response to it will intensify with each subsequent exposure.
Benedryl can help with non-life threatening allergic reactions, but won't cut it with a severe reaction.
Also, once you you have an allergic response to a med, you can't take it, and possibly other medications with similar chemical make-ups.
For example, a person who is allergic to penicilin is like to have reactions to other cephlosporins. My husband has this allergy: his skin turns eggplant purple if he even touches a penicilin or penicilin-like abx. He actually turned purple from head to toe the first time he took a penicilin type abx!!
Please follow up with your doc on this!!

Thanks KP... Did your husband have a blood test to determine his allergy? I mean I know by the symptoms he had thats what it was but I was just curious.
Last week when this happened my LLMD sent me for blood work (CBC) but it was 2 days after the rash started and it was pretty much gone by then. Plus I had stopped my meds when I got the first rash.
Also do you know if it is an allergic reaction would it be hot to the touch? Mine is very hot and SUPER SUPER ITCHY! I actually feel like I want to cut my skin off! Its so bad!

No blood test was done for my hubby, it was pretty clear that it was the medicine. In fact, I can remember a time well after this reaction, when just a drop of my youngest son's medicine got on his skin, it promptly turned purple.
(maybe I'm twisted, but there is something diabolically funny about a man turning eggplant purple from head to toe, although it certainly wasn't funny at the time!!)
He also became extremely itchy. I couldn't say whether or not it made his skin hot, as he was running high fevers at the time. (He later tested pos for mono, although in retrospect I wonder if it was really lyme-related, as he does indeed have lyme/bart.)
For my son, who was allergic to milk as an infant an toddler, a blood test was done, which confirmed the allergy. I do not remember what blood test it was though. Incidently, even though it was 'just' a milk allergy, we did have to carry an epi pen for him, until he was able to pass a food tolerance test for milk a year or so later.
