I am having a hard time finding real stories of people with experiences with HBOT. A lot of experiences are posted on sites that obviously have a conflict of interest, for example a site that sells, refers, or in some way connected to HBOT services.
Anyone who has tried it please post your honest assessment of your experience and if you felt it was worth it.

I did not do well with HBOT. I only had one treatment but for me I responded terribly.
I developed an inability to swallow during the acent and it has continued ( though getting better since the beginning of Jan.2009. I also developed air hunger and tachycardia.
These are all BABESIA symptoms. I had not been treated for babesia prior to HBOT. An oxegenated environmnet can bring out babesia.
That said, many people have found HBOT to be very benefical, even curing. It does take many sessions for good results. And often times periodic tune-ups.

I have babesia and did great with hyperbaric. Do a search on this site and you'll find many many threads about it.

I went for HBOT three years ago at a center. I did intensive treatment for one month. I went in in a wheelchair and walked out on my own.
I felt quite good for about two weeks after I got home, then I started to relapse. Soon it was as if I'd never done it.
It cost my husband and me a lot of money - a three year loan which we recently paid off. I think HBOT is terrific if all you have is Lyme and you have plenty of money and time to devote to it. Most people do not fall in this category.

I will chime in a bit I have a little experience with lyme and hbot : )
Feelfit, air hunger and tachycardia are symptoms of babesia. But they are also symptoms of anxiety. If you are going into a tube for the first time and are not prepared for the experience you may naturally have anxiety. So would I for that matter.
I have treated several people for lyme with babesia co infections and they do great. The key is to treat the babs with antibiotic PRIOR to starting HBOT and you will do well.
Hi LymeladyinNY, I have to agree with you HBOT is cost prohibitive. That's why I opened up shop. I could not believe that this was so out of reach for so many.
However, I have found that once you do your 40 sessions if you do ONLY maintenance therapy one or two every four to six weeks you will do well and maintain your gains.
LLYME, You will find good and bad reveiws everywhere for almost every treatment modality including HBOT. The key to success with HBOT and lyme for that matter is to treat yourself for heavy metals, detoxify and treat yourself for high viral titers. Then you should see good results.

Sorry, I did not have an anxiety atack. I was well prepared for the experience. I did not experience difficulty until after my 90 minute session and they were bringing me up. I lost the ability to swallow.
The tachycardia and air hunger occurred after I was out of the tube. And has continued to be a problem.
This person asked for an honest experience and that was honestly mine.
I wish that I had been treated for babesia before hand. I asked the Neuro about this before my dive and he stated that it would not be a problem as most babesia is anaerobic.
I still believe that HBOT can be of benefit and would advise you to seek someone like BOEJR who is conscientious and has loads of experience with the patients best interest at heart.....

I was not treated for babesia--but I did relapse after short-term clinic hyperbaric. I have a home mild chamber.
I did clinic hyperbaric with another gal who had lyme and babesia--all she did was hyperbaric, for 3 months solid, then twice a week for a year. She did really well.
The assumption that a poor response to hyperbaric is babesia is foolish imo.
Could be lyme die-off---lyme itself is known to cause swallowing problems, through nerve infection/damage. I forget which nerves control the swallowing response, it's complex.
