I just saw that on TV...I believe they used the term "Chronic Lyme"

Now were killing people...
The 27-year-old gunman has pled not guilty, and claims he suffered a psychotic episode triggered by Lyme disease, the chronic illness caused by tick bites. Cindy says she forgives him: "I am, I am forgiving him. Absolutely I'm forgiving him."
Some experts say that since the attack had been planned before that day and conducted in a very organized manner, so that it is unlikely due to an infection in the brain as that would create a more eratic, disorganized and impulse behavior.
He may have had lyme but lyme may not have had a direct connection to the killing. Of course, any failure (including that which stems from ill health and all that brings) can set the stage but there are legitimate questions since this was not an impulsive, spur-of-the-moment act.
Sympathies to family and friends of everyone affected by this sad event.

I agree, Keebler. Though he was Certifid nutzo (or so I read) & was known to walk out into the street & swear at traffic, such a situation req'd diligent planning & follow-thru. Lyme can only be indirectly involved... in my opinion. A tradgedy all around. Clearly he needed more help than he was afforded.
