I just got bloodtests back, tested posted (6.5, should be no higher than .89) for Parvovirus.
Anyone knows what that means? How to treat? Unfortunately, google searches on Parvo yield a lot of information about canine infection!
I've seen it mentioned on here, but can't figure out what it means, how it should be treated, what it has to do with anything.
Any help would be great. Thanks.

Just another coinfection of Lyme. I have had it as well. Possibly transmitted by ticks as well.
As I understand, it is generally treated by supporting the immune system. You might contact NutraMedix to see if they have any information on their herbs for Parvovirus.
Might also consider a transfer factor from Researched Nutritionals to provide immune support.

Is there any info on the ILADS site or a similar source where I can get a fuller picture of what it is/how to treat/etc.?
I'm getting really frustrated by the fact that all the info I'm getting for it is about dogs! I'm a human!!
If someone could provide a link to Lyme friendly health org, that would be really help me!

Good idea with the monolaurin. I like Lauricidin better, but they are pretty similar.

My daughter and I both have/had it. Very common in the mix of crud you get with this Disease.
When I got it, my bones hurt, I got a lacy rash under my skin. It causes a short term anemia (aplastic?)

I have constant rash! My number one symptom is constant hives, which tend to spike almost unbearable at night.
Just re-reading some of the back posts on parvo, came across this...

tainabell~ My IgG Parvo antibody test has hovered around 7.5 ever since being ill. My doctors (ID doctors) do not think this is a positive test, just past exposure. (Reference range being >1.10 for antibody detected) If it were to go up significantly or I were to get a positive IgM test they would think differently.
Is your positive test IgM or IgG?

Lee lee.. and little tbell...
It isn't the same as the Parvo commonly found in dogs.
I've watched dogs who got the canine kind.. and it isn't pretty.
Try looking up 5th's (Fifth) disease or slapped cheek syndrome.
And Leelee... it is something to consider (getting tested) if you match symptoms with what is listed... or your LLMD thinks it is ok.
Many don't run these tests unless there is a good reason.
Your reason.. you are in Merryland.. where a good bit of parvo has been found in Lyme patients.

Hey there, tainabell!
I broke out with Parvovirus last Oct. It brought increased arthritis pain to my wrists and ankles along with an all-over red rash that was itchy.
It all cleared within a week, but I tested positive a month later.
From all I could read, it is a virus and therefore just has to be dealt with by the immune system. Nothing I read indicated it was very serious or long lasting.
My doctor did not seem concerned about it.

Thanks for the advice. I will follow through on it.
I vaguely remember when my nephew was a baby about 18 years ago he was diagnosed with Fifth's disease. The doctor told his mom (my sister) it would clear up and not to worry.

Thanks for all your advice...I've sort of concluded that the parvo isn't my main problem, but I spent the better part of the day obsessing over it.
I'm going to my regular (nonLLMD) doc tomorrow, so I will let you know if she sheds any interesting new light on it.
