Yeah, big time immune boosters. Some used for cancer treatment.

I would expect a herx.

I take ALIVE, New Chapter's Host Defense (medicinal Mushrooms), plus a mushroom immune tincture from my Herbalist, sun chlorella, VIT C, etc..

I have not noticed any kind of herx and I am on extreme immune boosters... Maybe I just haven't noticed???

Reishi Mushroom with Heparin is a no-no!
I'm on Heparin everyday to maintain PICC line.

I use ALIVE. It's an awesome supplement. I was tested by my LLMD thru three different labs and all of my numbers are elevated, including B12 and such. She was surprised and asked me what I'd done, and I showed her the supplement.

I was only taking 2/3rd the full dose, 2 tablets per day. My doctor told me to increase it to 3.

I should say though, it doesn't solve the Vitamin D problem many of us have. It doesn't have high enough numbers to overcome the lack of light from living up north and the chronic home bound nature that the disease has had for awhile.

I'm improving inch by inch with proper treatment but separate supplementation with Vitamin D is necessary.

This is interesting as this is what I was going to purchase as my next multivitamin when my other one is all used up.

"Herx" is WAAAAY over-used on this Site.
Remember folks, ONLY something that kills [a] spirochete[s]- & it's related forms- can POSSIBLY cause a Jarsch-Herxheimer reaction.
That's not my or anyone's opinion. It's the definition of the term.

Any boosting of the immune system is not an instantanteous or overnight thing. Plus, even a healthy human immune system is simply ineffective at getting an out-of-hand Lyme infection under control. That's WHY we need atleast an initial heavy abx protocol, though Rife & other alternative treatments can be useful.

You might indeed sense a herx-"like" reaction to some herbs, mookie. Happens all the time.
But it isn't a herx.

Sounds like a good mix of immune support in that Nature's Way formula, & though I'm not familiar with it, I have found other products of theirs to be Hi-Q.

Metallic- I've been recently reading of a Lyme protocol which, at it's core, suggests that Lyme patients have an excess of Vitamin D compounds (a side effect of the disease) & need to be careful to NOT eat anything rich in Vit D to get better.
R U familiar with it? Opinions?

i take alive and have never noticed a herx-like reaction from it, but given the ingredients i think experiencing a healing crisis is a definite possibility.

Yes I'm fully aware of it, and I believe that the evidence for avoiding sunlight, or vitamin D in any form, is dangerous. There is vehement disagreement over this, but I rely heavily on scientific data from both present, and over the last 50 years.

It's possible that what the Marshall Protocol promotes as a cornerstone for diagnostics and as a primary restriction in their routine may in-fact have merit, but at this time I don't see it. The problem is, no one else is publishing papers, that I know of, that are in agreement.

Maybe he's right, maybe not, but I'm not seeing "gold star" results from long time followers of the protocol as a whole, so I'm not quick to change my thinking. The protocol has had plenty of years for thousands of patients to complete the protocol and to come forward, yet I only occasionally hear 3-5 patients, out of probably 3-4 times that, come forward and talking to me about "the failure" of the routine, inspite of following the instructions appropriately.

That leaves much to be desired, so until then, Vitamin D remains crucial in my opinion to the health of all people.

I agree with Mike (Metallic Blue) in saying that Vitamin D is critical to the health of all people.

-

I also agree with 'Kete-tracker that ""Herx" is WAAAAY over-used on this Site"

And I just want to caution that we do not want to BOOST the immune system. We want to gently support it. By trying to boost any system of the body in a very sick person, something is going to rocket to the moon. That's not a herx, just too much of something.

I can comment on Nature's Way ALIVE! as I'm not familiar with it but, generally, mushrooms are gentle support and I've never had a problem with them. Maybe something else in the formula, cutting back on the dose, or stopping for few days will help.

mookiewill,

With any vitamin or supplement, if you get undesired effects, either back off or switch. Many vitamin formula don't agree with my system.

For instance, I'm very sensitive to chromium and some formulas have a too high amount for my tender system and I wind up nearly flying to the moon.

Same with B-vitamins. I need to be sure to take those after a meal and not after noon.

I hope you find what works for you.

You seem upset that you ordered a rife (you said "urrgghh"). I would think that would be thrilling. Many have seen their lives turn around with rife treatments. Yeah, it's more to have to study up on before using but it holds much promise.

Just be certain not to go over the recommend time, settings or frequency of treatments. Once every 12 days - at very little time for certain frequencies. More frequencies, more time or more often can be very dangerous for the kidneys and liver.

Be sure to have your metal mop-up and support measures in place, too.

Best of luck. I hope this gets easier.

This book, by an ILADS member LLMD, holds great information about treatments options and support measures - especially for adrenal/endocrine, liver and immune suport:

I don't know if that would be in this set of links as I don't have the energy to look, but I like having this set in my file for future reference:
