Just curious...thought I read somewhere a while back that there wasn't much of a difference between the old 2005 guidelines and then new 2008???
Don't want to waste my time printing it off if it's the same. Amyone know??
Thanks!

New info was added, but some of it is the same.

I believe it was close to the same. Really how different can it be considering he doesn't even practice medicine anymore? Posted by Keebler (Member # 12673) on :

Seekhelp,
I don't see why you are slamming him. Does one's mind stop? Does the researching stop? No.
I am thankful the man puts in all the hours he does so that some of us might have a better life. We should be sending him roses, not insults.

Laura,
You can search the new set - even searching with a term - and see if there are changes to the parts that might concern you.
Then you can print off just that page.
Even if there may be little difference, it is always best to consult the most recent work.

I believe he has modified the section for co-infections.

NOT ALL LLMD'S GO BY THESE GUIDELINES, SO CHECK WITH YOUR OWN LLMD FIRST.

Much is the same for 2008, but a sentence & paragraph here & there has been added, along with revisions to specific treatments, dietary supplements & such. Worth printing this version for yourself or if you plan to give it to your practitioner.

MY PRACTICTIONER WOULD NEVER GO BY THESE GUIDELINES, NEVER MIND BELIEVING MY LLMD.

loco,
please do NOT use all caps; it's considered shouting and hard on our neuro systems to read and comprehend.
just use lower case as i do or regular typing BUT NOT ALL CAPS please.
thank you. to edit, click on your pencil, 3rd box to right of your name to open up text area.
if it's a lot of typing, just copy it to your word processor and do a CASE CONVERT meaning you can go from all caps to lower case...helpful and time efficient. big thanks.

laura,
another member whose name does not come to my mind now, did a side by side review and it is posted here in lymenet somewhere.
you could do a search for it
they were 3-4 pages of changes...
it used to be in my WELCOME letter to all, and would be in seeking dr. forum going back to nov. 08 when we found out they were changed which we didn't know about earlier.

Whoa, slow down a bit. There's so much sensitivity on this board when you say anything not perfect regarding the LLMDs! I didn't slam him.
I simply said he does not practice active medicine anymore. His guidelines are based on CLINICAL findings mostly from what I read. You stop gaining clinical experience when you no longer treat patients, right?
His new guidelines seemed to focus on more supplements. I don't know if that's good or bad. I didn't say he hid under a rug and doesn't care about Lyme/TBDs anymore. I'm not sure where his revenue comes from now. That's great if he's still doing good for Lyme patients.
