I just received my first medication to treat Lyme Disease and I will begin taking it Friday night.

I just wanted to ask if anyone could share their experience with this med.

It is Tetracycline 500mg once a day. Eventually it will become twice a day, and then three times a day. But for now, to start, it is just once a day.

How long did it take any of you to experience a herx off of the dose that I am starting on?

Any bad/weird/interesting side effects.

Also, how long did it take anyone to move up from once a day to twice a day to three times a day.

I am REALLY scared!! But REALLY excited at the same time. My doc just freaked me out because he gave me a worse case scenario that it could make me so bad I would be bedridden.

Oh geez.
