I was positive IGenex for both IGG and IGM.

I think I read once that once you test positive, you always test positive. Is that correct ?

Alot of folks ask me, how do you know if you have eradicated Lyme.

I think the only way is to be symptom free for a prolonged period of time confirmed by a LLMD.

Let me know your thoughts ? I guess the question is it worth getting re-tested thru IGenex.

Not at all. Once infected, though, always infected (at least until the IDSA poisoners get busted and research is allowed to happen.)

Good morning Tony,

Your questions are a bit difficult to answer because there are so many variables concerning antibody testing.

Igenex WB tests your body's response to antigens from Bb. Now IF you are in a bad way... and no longer are making antibodies to respond to your antigens, then your test may reveal that you are no longer infected (lack of antibody response). We know that is not always the case with Bb.

Many, who are among the most ill with Bb will no longer produce antibodies. Does that mean they aren't infected... of course not. It only proves that their bodies are not responding adequately.

So, while retesting may help to show an increase or decrease in your antibodies, and that MAY tell your LLMD something such as which particular bands to interpret for some meaning...it will not tell you if you are no longer infected.

Retesting really is at the discretion of you and your doc...but don't be fooled into thinking it is an indicator of infection levels.

My daughter had a positive band 30 three years ago. Now it is negative.

Anyone else? My primary doc retested me for Lyme when she ran my bloodwork. It came back positive even though I just finished antibiotics through my LLMD. What gives?
