I just had a question about bands on the Igenex test.
I've heard that band 31 and 34 only show up after over a year of exposure.
I'm wondering how accurate that is. My IGM was positive with these bands plus a couple others. I was IGG neg.
I've heard of people who knew when they were bitten and had the test and the band 31 showed up even though it hadn't been a year since the bite. So I'm a little confused.
I'm trying to determine how long I may have had lyme, because I never saw a tick or rash.
I've been on abx for months and haven't responded much to treatment so I'm thinking I've had this a long time.
So, do you have to have had lyme for over a year to have the bands 31 and 34 show up?
I'd love to hear your opinions on this. Thanks

I've heard that about band 31. I don't know much about what you're asking.
But I do know that the IgM is positive in more chronic patients than the IgG.
HOpefully, someone here knows about what you're asking.

My daughter just had this band show up on her second western blot. The first test was in August '08 and it wasn't on that test. Our doctor told us that this band takes one year to evolve. She was positive on the IGM band and indeterminate on the IGG band. This would bring us back to March '08 for infection, but we believe she had it in September '07.

A year to evolve or enough antibiotic to convert? I would guess Sept. 07 also. What was on her first test? IgG and IgM?
