LLMD put me on new MWF dosing:

Amoxi 875mg 3 2x a day
Mycobutin 150mg 1 2x a day
Zithromax 500mg 1x 2x a day

I'd previously been doing everyday:

Amoxi 875mg 2 2x a day
Zithromax 250mg 1x a day

So, I did new dosing Monday and early last Tuesday morning I awoke in pain. While I ached all over, the worst of the pain was lower back pain, leg pain in the thighs and calves, and knees. Over the course of two-hours the pain
became worse and worse until I threw up. I then had dry heaves from about 8:30 am until 12:00 pm. It was awful. The pain did no fully go away for another 24-hours.

I have had the same leg pain on my previous tries with Mycobutin. I do not know if this is just a bad reaction to the medicine or if it is an extreme herx.

My doctor suspects it was a herx but I don't know as all nausea finally stopped when my body literally finally managed to dig up from the deepest recesses the last Mycobutin pill which came up and then that ended the dry heaves (pain didn't stop).

If this was a Herx, why the back and leg pains? Anyone else have that type of pain or vomiting? I'm so scared to go back on the Mycobutin.

Any stories or tips would just make me feel so much better. To just hear from people who have been where I am or are there right now.

Thanks!

I never took Mycobutin, but my drug reference book lists vomiting as a common side effect of this drug.

Another common musculo-skeletal symptom is myalgia which means diffuse muscle pain.

I wouldn't take this drug again if I were you. I don't think this was a herx. I think it was common Mycobutin side effects.

Only half of this drug is gone from your body in 45 hours, so two days of myalgia seems about right for a drug side effect.
