I know others on this board have suggested taking antibiotics for a few months after symptoms have cleared.
I just had an LLMD appointment today and told him that I am MUCH better but still have some lingering symptoms:
vision problems (flashing lights, floaters, seeing spots) muscle spams (but only after I exercise as opposed to constantly before) and peripheral neuropathy.
However, the neuropathy was one of my worst symptoms and now I hardly notice it (maybe once a day I will get tingling and it won't last very long).
All in all I feel SO much better (I could not get out of bed 2 years ago).
He suggested I continue my current protocol (rifampin and omnicef) and come back at the end of June at which point he wants to take me off antibiotics.
This was great news! But since I'm still having symptoms I'm a little worried.
He told me that the vision problems are usually the last to go away and that some problems may never completely go away.
Is this anyone else's experience?

I'd wait till June and see what he says.
Are your symptoms every day? If they just flare once a month, then perhaps you could continue the abx for a week when they flare, that's what my LLMD does.
You could try changing over to herbs for a few months to see if they hold you where you are.

Yes, I will wait until June but I feel like he's being a little too optimistic because I DO have symptoms everyday.
It's just that they are much milder and for most of the day I feel "normal" (when they start flaring up--especially the tingling and vision problems) I realize I am still sick!
I'm just wondering if anyone is declared "in remission" but still has daily symptoms that won't go away? That just seems strange to me.
