Dear Adamm,

I was taking Mepron/Zith for about 260 days. I ended treatment with that about 2 months ago now.

I had been treating Babs with herbs for quite some time before that--like almost a year! My LLMD had me on an herbal preparation for many months before starting Mepron/Zith. And, this was AFTER I'd self-treated with artemisinin and cryptolepsis, etc.

Anyway, I did notice improvements pretty soon. They were slow and small, however. Better thinking was the happiest one.

Best,

Cass A

I think no two people will respond in the same amount of time.

My first round, I was on Zith, mepron and art for 7-8 months.

We thought we got it, but here I am a week later, back babs treatment. Hopefully I can get it this time.

Good luck to you. I know others have said they kicked it much earlier, so it really is dependant on the individual.

My son never did im proved on it.We have had to include ARTEMISIN very high dosages..

He is not positive on Babesia MICROTI energeticly -I wonder if that was a cross over reaction with another BUG!

He still have the misterious BUG .

Yeah--it's not like I expect a full remission

within the first 3 weeks, but I would like to after

what period of time sans improvement I should

consider babs txment a fool's errand;

2 PCR tests and the IGX FISH failed to turn up any

evidence of infection, and I lack the most classic

symptoms, such as fatigue and night sweats.

After two months of very little improvement on mepron/tetracycline, the LLMD decided to test for some of the rarer coinfections. Tests came back positive for bartonella, so added bactrim DS.

Significant improvement followed during the next month with babs symptoms of night sweats disappearing, decrease in fatigue, cognitive abilities really improved. Hit a plateau at 4 months so swapped malarone for mepron. Seeing slow, steady improvement still.

From all I've read on these boards and elsewhere, it seems to be a juggling act to figure which of these bugs to go after first/last. Not to mention the difficulty in figuring out which bugs are even present. There are clearly synergies at work depending on bug species and the person involved. Finding the right combo of drugs is often difficult.

Just my two cents, but could you also have some other tbd?

I've treated the two I tested positive for, Bartonella and Lyme, for a year (with orals) with no success, and the only major drugs families to which I've yet to turn are those of the Aminoglycosides and the Fluroquinolones.
If Babs treatment hasn't yielded any progress in 2 months, I'll get on IV.

I improved significantly but, it took a real commitment to stick with it. I did 3 rounds of the combo (one without Zith). Each time was about 4 months. I took breaks in between and relapsed 2x. I think the last round worked pretty well. I have been steadily improving since going off Mep/Zith. I also targeted Lyme while on the combo. Rocephin and Bicillin seemed to work best.

i just talked to my LLMD about this topic yesterday.

It is his opinion that you should stay on a combo for a few months, then switch it out, then try it again in a few months, continuing to rotate your combos until you are recovered.

for instance, i have done bactrim and mepron; then i did rifampin and plquenil; then i did rifampin and alinia; now i am back on bactrim and mepron.

i also took zith the whole time.

i don't know if this works, since I am still having a lot of symptoms.
