i have a terrble case of thrush. my tongue is totally white and furry.

i was taking nystatin liquid but stopped it due to severe stomach pain. it's the weekend so i can't call the doctor.

yesterday afternoon i started feeling like i couldn't swallow.

last night we went out and i had a small sip of pepsi and one bite of his pretzel. about an hour later i felt like i couldn't breathe and my tongue was swelling.

when we came home my tongue was very very bad.

i used some hydrogen peroxide and water to gargle with and it foamed so bad i almost chocked.

i think something is seriously wrong.

last night was bad, joint pain, burning feet, aching, etc. maybe it was the nystatin, i don't know.

but i need help now.

i can't live on water.

and i definitely can't go to er.

i'm thinking of going to my primary cause he's close.

what do you think?

So sorry you are dealing with this.

Here is the link to Dr. B's guidelines.

Tea tree oil is helpful for thrush but it is very strong so be sure to dilute it before you swish your mouth out with it. I had an infection in my mouth and it helped immediately. It is known as an anitfungal treatment.

Oregano oil is reported to be very helpful for thrush. Pau d' arco tea is also helpful.

Use powdered acidophilus or yogurt with live bacteria in your mouth after treatments.

Infection can spread down your throat to other organs and the blood so the sooner you get this taken care of the better.

Hope you feel better soon.

edited to add:
The joint pain and burning could be from systemic yeast infection.

I use grapefruit seed extract, caprylic acid and a product from vitacost called Candida Yeast Management. I add other things as necessary. Symptoms from a yeast infection can overlap with lyme and can be very bad.

It sounds like an allergic reaction to me. You need to try taking an antihistamine asap. Try Claritin. Benadryl works for some people, but I don't like it personally.
