I know vertigo/dizzyness is a symptom of lyme/co-infections but does it usually present in a specific way?

-I have been getting spinning sensations when I turn over in bed or sit up/tilt my head too fast. Sometimes I will feel very nauseous when I get a really bad spell. The spinning lasts 30 seconds or so but it is not pleasant.

Some days the vertigo will be slight and other days head movement causes my world to spin..augh.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Thanks!

Sarah,

This could be lyme related or something unrelated. See if your LLMD can refer you to a LL ENT or LL neurotolgist.

You may have a kind of vertigo called BPV and there may be a simple physical treatment that would help (the Epley maneuver IF it is that particular kind. Do NOT let the ear docs give you steroids, though, as they often like to do. Steroids can make lyme much worse.)

Right now, you can try ginger tea or ginger capsules. And magesium and B-6.

Are you taking minocycline, azithromycin or biaxin?

See the VEDA site in the first few posts at the thread and you can search for BPV (benign positional vertigo).

good luck:
