I have been diagnosed with Lyme, Bart, and Babesia. Started abx (Dynacin) five days ago.

Will start zithromax and a sulfa drug (don't know which one) next month. But, for the first time in years I feel wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. Like my old self before I got so sick. I feel like I could ride a bicycle, fly a kite, skip down the street, all these things today.

Is this possible? Could the abx work this fast? Am I imagining this?

I guess and that's wonderful, but it sure isn't like that for me at all. Enjoy it while you can because you may not see the hungry Lyme lion sneakng up. [Smile] Everyone reacts to treatment differently due to tolerance, detox abilities. etc.

Yes, it is. Check out lymemd.blogspot.com--apparently Bartonella can respond quite quickly.

I have been treated since March 13h (mono with Doxy until April 1st and then added more abx) and after about 2 1/2 weeks on the combo therapy I started to feel much better. I am happy for you. : )

Hi Leelee - I'm wondering how long you were sick, if you don't mind me asking.

I think it's fantastic that you are feeling so much better.

Congratulations! That is wonderful news.

Can I ask: what were your symptoms and which are now gone?

Wishing you much continued success!

Glad you're feeling better!

I started Doxy last month, and I felt some improvement almost immediately.

Then the bottom fell out again, so I don't know.

I guess it's just all in how your body responds to the treatment.

Hi kelly, I am not sure how long I have been infected, but I suspect since the early 1970's when I got mono, followed by Bell's Palsey, followed by TMJ, followed by the mumps.

Things waxed and waned from then on with a flare up about 20 years ago, another one about three years ago and then a major all out raging flare this past fall. I honestly thought I was dying from the inside out.

Then, with abx for just a few days I feel so much better. I am happy, but really shocked. I want to resume my old life of ballet, stretch, Pilates, playing the flute, etc., but after only one day it almost seems too good to be true. But I hope it's really real. [Smile]

Hi aMomWithHope,

I had assorted aches and pains, but honestly I could ignore them, except for the awful one at the nape of my neck -- on both sides.

But, the neuro and psychological symptoms were unbearable. I occasionally thought I couldn't go on, that I was dying, and there was horrible, frightening darkness surrounding me. I had relentless insomnia and debilitating fatigue.

I developed tics and spasms, intense anxiety, agitation, and paranoia. I imagined smells that did not exist and my vision became blurry.

This morning when I woke up it was like the air around me was clear. It's bizarre in a good way. I feel serene and tranquil.

Leelee -

That's great news! I do believe it's possible to feel better fast with treatment, at least with some sypmtoms.

I have never heard of the abx you are on. Do you know what your doctor intended it for? Is it for bartonella? Do you mind sharing which LLMD you see? (My e-mail is [email protected], as I cannot access my pm mailbox on this system at the moment until they fix it.)

I hope it continues!

tickbattler, Dynacin is the same as minocycline, I think. I think it's for the Lyme and next month I will start the zithromax which I believe is for the bartonella.

Sending you an email in just a second......
