We are awaiting the results of my daughter's WB bloodwork. She complains of sore knees and coldness in her legs. She also complains that her heart, belly and head hurt. Since it sounds like if she is positive that she's had it awhile and it's in her nerves shouldn't she be put on IV antibiotics? The dr wants to put her on oral amoxicillin. Thoughts?

I am not a doctor but I think that most chronic lyme patients are put on orals first. This allows some of the bacterial burden to be knocked down and for the doctor to see the response to abx.
I would never have been able to tolerate IV right away. I was too sick to handle the die off plus I have a lot of detox issues that we didn't know about then.
An ILADS LLMD who knows your daughters history and current state would be the one to ask about IV for your daughter.

We treated my daughter for 2 months with orals. She improved but slowly. After 2 months doctor put her on IV.
She just finished 6 weeks and she is doing great.
She is back in school full time and starting to enjoy life again!
