Hi all, My LLMD thinks I have Lyme and maybe Bartonella. I am waiting till next week to get my test results. The Igenex I had last year was iffy. Anyhow, I had to go on Cipro and Flagyl for diverticulitis attack. Most of my supposed Lyme symptoms felt better. I had a lot of energy and actually felt normal. Could this mean I might have Lyme even though there was no Herx. Thanks, Jessielee

It sounds like the Cipro hit the Bartonella possibly, especially if you improved relatively quickly.

Some people never herx. For some, the herx is mild and so it can be missed. You could just feel like laying around for a few days.
If you were sick with the diverticulitis attack, you could have just chalked it up to that at the time.
As soon as I started on antibiotics, some of my symptoms went away and I felt pretty good. But at the end of the 30 days of meds, they came back.
Your Igenex test results will hopefully tell the tale.

It sounds like the medicine is working.
Remember, a herx is not a desired effect. You will progress better if your body does not have to go through that.
I felt far better when I tool Cipro for a kidney attack, too. If fact, I have never had an abx that worked so very well for me, all the way around. That ten days sure went fast, though. It was just a short course.
Be VERY careful while on it and even for a couple weeks after you stop it as it can cause some tendon damage. Do not stretch your legs out, other than VERY gently. I had no problem but it is something to be aware of so as to prevent.

Besides the herxing, abx always made me feel better in the end.
I'm glad abx is working for you and you are feeling better.
