I've been on ketek over a month and made good improvements.. i have lyme, babs, bart...i also take mepron and diflucan.. my dr added in minocycline for my cognitive issues...

i started at 100 mg for a few days and was fine.. then when i increased to 200, i was immediately sleepy and had a fainting feeling... i am also nauseous....

i started cutting out nut butter as i think i may be having candida issues also... is it normal to herx right away when increasing minocycline? i feel so "off"

Yep, sure can.

The nausea is possibly due, partly, to minocycline's effect on the inner ear/balance system.

Ginger capsules or ginger tea (even if only from your kitchen spice collection) can help.

B-6 and NAC are said to help also.

If from the stomach upset, did you take with food? That should help. DGL should also help.

Sorry for not giving full terms for NAC or DGL. I'm too tired now to think of how to spell those big words. You can easily google the terms or go to Wikipedia.

You might need to increase mino more slowly. The faint feeling can also be due to effects on the inner ear system.

Mino is discussed in this thread, where you can find the documentation for my suggesting B-6 and NAC:

Yes.

In two seperate occations I "herxed" jumping from 50mg to 100mg.

Mine was more headaches, minimal sleep, and consenstration issues.

I'm enjoying one right now actually. This will be the first time i dont stop treatment after feeling like crap. I'll find out once and for all if it's a herx or not. Hoping so!
