Anyone suggest any high-protein sources that are non-dairy and not fattening. Most protein shakes with whey are dairy base. I get too little protein in my diet I believe.

Seacure is a pre-digested easily assimilated fish protein.

I ordered mine from Nature Doc 800-952-5884. I don't remember the website.

Pea protein might be another option. I have not tried this as my children react to peas. Check out Kirkman Labs. I think they carry it.

Food. Real food. It's nature's gift to us. Whole foods are packed full of nutrients. Legumes, dark rices, lean meats and low mercury fish like salmon. Salmon is the very best protein for us - get "Wild" and non-farmed.

Trader Joe's has good prices on frozen and canned wild salmon.

They also have a good frozen chicken package.

And Trader Joe's also has pretty good prices on many kinds of nuts.

For my supper I add ground walnuts to my mixed vegetables and I eat almond butter on lettuce for breakfast. I dont look at food as anything except as correct fuel for my body so having the same thing every day is so easy.

You will read that nuts are high in calories but thats because they are assuming you are eating them as snacks instead of instead of meat.

Sofylyme,

Great idea for the ground walnuts. I put almond butter with carrots for breakfast, too.

As for the request for no fats, that is a very dangerous consideration. Our bodies require fat.

Now, cutting out the bad fats is a good idea, but the good fats are essential. We would die without them.
