I'm really feeling crappy on Rifampin (at least I think that's what it is).

I took the dose last night before bed, thinking that would help me avoid the dizziness, headache, and nausea that I've been having.

Wrong!

I feel just as bad as if I'd taken it this morning.

Will Benadryl help take away some of these feelings, or do I just have to fight through and hope my body adjusts?

I've only been on it a couple days, so I don't want to give up without giving my body time to adjust.

Hi Starfall, Benadryl might help diminish the unpleasant effects of the heat shock proteins released by the dead bacteria. Can't hurt to try. If it helps, try to only use it when you need it, or you might have to go up on the dosage after frequent use.

It helps my husband, but there's no way to tell if it's helping with the HSP's from dead Lyme or from dead Chlamydia pneumoniae. I use his ears as a gauge of when he needs Benadryl...one or both of his ears turns red and warm to the touch.

Thanks.

I'll pop a Benadryl and see if I feel any better.
