What are your teens symptoms for lyme? It seems so hard to separate lyme disease from adolescent behavior.
Extreme lethargy and fatigue constantly always tired, can't fall asleeep and waking up is an ordeal
But teens live to sleep right??
Moodiness- Irritated, angry, to tears blown out of proportion
Anxiety issues surrounding fear of germs and socialization, having/following conversation on bad days.
Upper Back pain, stiff neck, constant headaches especially upon waking, stomaches
School work declining each quarter unable to focus, maintain interest and too tired to listen to lecture, low memory retention. Impulsivity talking too much in class.
No rashes or skin circles
Does your teen have these types of lyme symptoms?

I think symptoms are similar to those of adults. Specific symptoms are individual to the person, just as they are in adults. I had lyme as a teen. I was in remission off and on.
This is a mother/daughter team who both have lyme.
You may be able to ask some questions there or perhaps get your teen interested in talking to someone there.

Hi,
I got sick as a teen and had many of those symptoms. I was not congenital Lyme though, so I knew what 'normal' was, not sure if the teen you are talking about was bitten or not?
Yes, I was straight A student (mostly, had a few B's thrown in for good measure ), and my work declined rapidly. Very bad fatigue, felt really weird all the time, couldn't concentrate at school because my mind was so messed up. Started having ZERO interest in teen activities like prom, hanging out with friends, even talking on the phone to friends.
When you are sick, you are just trying to survive. I don't remember stomach problems, I had a LOT of trouble swallowing, air hunger, ect.
My memory was just shot, I cried a lot, started crying at school, terrible anxiety constantly, dreaded field trips due to feeling so strange and anxiety (normal teens love the field trips, I always had in the past anyhow!). Weight gain even though I wasn't eating more, probably due to the severe fatigue.
If you think your teen may have Lyme, please find an LLMD (not sure if maybe you are writing for someone else?), my last year of highschool and beyond is an absolute nightmare in my mind, very hard to talk about.
Please take care!

Knowing what I now know, I would recommend starting your teen on Allergie Immune drops.
Even withut the lyme diagnosis, this could help other issues. It is a fantastic starting point. Look for the A.I. threads on this site.
My teen is now doing phenominal, almost overnight, with her emotions and anxiety.
She is getting her life back! Her lyme is now testing gone...or in remission!
We only worked on her co-infectins with antibiotics for one year, but now I wish I never started with the antibiotics, and first started with the A.I. Drops and the Progurt acidophylus to address the main issue we now now all lymeis have, malabsorption of nutrients and hence poor immune system fucntion. Build this up and her body will heal itself! Especially a young person will have the fastest results.
Do find a good LLMD, and get her tested at Igenex, but I find that route will go on forever with tretments...I would reccommed you get the Igenex test, and at the same time start the A.I. drops and get her regulated at the deep level, than you will see what you have left to deal with.
The basic LLMD protocols are overwhelming for a teen. A.I drops are very easy, only a few tasteless drops under the tongue 3 x day.
We are still dealing with 1 and 3, though much less, and 6 still happens. Then of course, she's still a teenager, but.......

My daughters extreme migrain headaches, and fatigue have been now diagnosed as die-of or in other words, toxins that need to be l=eliminated by detox.
Try a detox, and see if she gets better.

My daughter was 12 when diagnosed last summer with Lyme.
Her first symptoms were, daily headaches, nausea, anxiety,( just a feeling of jitters, impending doom, out of the blue) achey knees, rib pain, urine freq
urgency, every day other symptoms that would come and go. Fatigue( felt like sleeping all the time).....off and on dizziness. Shortness of breath. stomach pains...Lots of
tears for nothing, sometimes blown out of pro portion.
When she was treated for the Lyme , she got more dizziness, heart flutters, shortness of breath,
pins and needles in legs, foot, seemed more moody, irrritable, there are more but can't remember right now. Foot pain. Anger
She was treated for about 8 weeks total and still wasn't herself.
She still has headaches, some anxiety,
depression is better, lightheaded( not sure if it is all from side effects of anxiety med. Light
sens, sometimes sound sens, urine freq. Feels hot at times, but no fever. Borderline Hypo-thyroid.
Normal iron and ferritin, but on the low side.
Tested positive for Bartonella Henselae and Quintana in Nov. Not treated as of now.
Hoping to get to the bottom of this , when we see a Very Good Lyme specialist in a couple of weeks.
In my opinion, it seems like Lyme or co infections could be the cause of some of the symptoms in your daughter.
Wishing you luck with your daughter, i would definitely look into Lyme for your daughter.

Those all sound like my daughter when she started getting sick at 14-15. She had a year of migraines, then went into depression/anxiety with a big dish of OCD.
After that, she started with asthma issues (never had that before, could have been the mycoplasma p, or babesia causing it.).
After a trauma at school involving a teacher, she spiraled and started with pain in all parts of the body, crushing fatigue, insomnia, memory issues, cognitive issues, weight gain, IBS, bladder problems, hormonal problems, mouth pain, thyroid...
Every organ system.
Let her know that it will get better with treatment. Most of these symptoms have disappeared or lifted considerably.
I know, as a mom, this is a hard time for YOU, as well.

I'm not considered a teen anymore since I'm 25, but I was bitten around 14 years old, so I had symptoms on and off all through my teen years. Some were bad and some were intermittent. Fortunately, none of the symptoms were as dibilitating as they are now so I was able to get through high school and college with relatively good health... I was at the doctors all the time with different aches and pains and issues, but I just started to think I was a hypochondriac.
The main bothersome symptoms I had as a teen:
-Bad arthritis in hands. This was one of my first symptoms at 14 or 15 years old and I didn't even really think anything of it. I mean, it crossed my mind that it was arthritis, but I kind of put it to the back of my mind as I had no idea what would have caused it or why I had it... I didn't really think of it as being not normal.
-EXTREME headaches that I had pretty much every single day during high school. They were extremely bad and they were always located in the same spot on the right side temple area of my head. My headaches never changed location. They were ALWAYS in that ONE area. It got to the point where I thought I had a brain tumor. Went to the doctor about it and all I was told was to take 3 or 4 Ibuprofen a day when I had a headache. That iS ALL I was told. They ran no tests or MRI or anything. Doctors!!!!!
-I had awful menstrual periods and cramps. Unfortunately, I still have this symptom.
-I had horrible IBS. I developed some sort of lactos intolerance and food intolerances after being bitten. Fortunately, this has cleared up.
-Paranoia/moodiness/anger/anxiety issues. Though a lot of teens have this, right? lol.
-Dizzy and vertigo spells that would come and go. Sometimes I would have these while in class or the one time while walking down the hall and I thought I was going to fall.
-At one point, I can't remember the age, it might have been shortly after I was bitten, my lymph nodes in my neck became huge and puffy and tender and they stayed enlarged for quite a few months. They were so enlarged, you could clearly see them when looking at my neck. Went to the doctor about it even because they were swollen for so long that I was getting worried. The doctor said something to the effect of not worrying about it and that they seemed normal, and that if they got any bigger than they already were then to come back, blah, blah, blah... yeah, again, doctors!!! Yes, my 16 year old daughter has those exact same symptoms and more. Her doctor mentioned that lyme patients' IQs tend to drop with this disease and once they are getting better it is restored. Once your child is diagnosed, perhaps you can get him/her on a 504 Plan with the school so they can have special accommodations for his/her symptoms. It helps a lot, especially getting a town-provided tutor if they are unable to function in regular school.

I just turned 20. I've been sick for 4 years, so I've definitely been a teen lyme patient. Please PM me if you want to compare notes or ask anyone questions. I'd love to be of any help that I can be.

LYMETIMES 4!
MY DAUGHTER had all of these.I was wathcing her and she was hiding symtoms trying to justify. She did not like MY DISSIPLINE ( always was amazed on how I find the strength on what I DO ).
She decided to hide her symtoms.THAN blow UP with her fever and vomiting and DIAREA.PALE.I got her to Dr J.She denied everything .
ALL the money on two apointment and never took a pill and was hiding. We tried to treat bart .Than she stoped.
Ok ..than I decided to provoke her with HOMEPATHIC formula.EVERYTHING exsploded .INCLUDED HH Capsules on her .She felt GREAT and than lyme showed up .AGAIN she denied...and finally came to me saying she can not sleep all night.I have in the mean time set up the apointment to test her to MY LLMD.
He IGENEX was NEGATIVE and CD 57 was low.I knew she had lyme but the Dr missed it.
I knew that if test will not show anything at leat MY LLMD will tell me what SHE HAS.
CAME out that within 1 months (all these hapened in 7 months)she tested for lyme and bart.WAS JUST activated.
Send her to EUROPE and tested .POSITIVE for LYME congenital. Can you imagine and the IGENEX was NEGATIVE.If I did not provoked her for BART with BART treatment ...it would hae continued like this.
Seemed that I opened the can of worms.I always have thought that BART keep them down from showing.Once you hit bart..they will start showing up.
Lately she showed EHRLICHIA and She has fry bug as well.3 days ago also she showed positive on babs microti...as she is killing them one at a time she sees the diference and THIS WEEK she was DOING MASTER cleansings and have been focused and read a LOT. FINALY my efforts paid off.SHE IS WAY more mature now and she can not beilive that HER quality of life and self estem has increased.SHE IS FOCUSED on HER LIFE and HEALTH now MORE than ever.
I strugeled all these time.GOD knows WHERE I got teh strenght to deal with all I HAVE HAD. BUT now she comes and ask me to test her .SHE SAID!
I WANT THEM DEAD AND OUT OF MY BODY.I do not want ANY OF THEM .She feel better and once you reach that point of feeling beeter you want to be there. Is like HEAVEN.
