how much do you take?

the product label is artesunate, i think (can't remember) so if you take 1 pill three times a day, are you getting enough artemisinin?

That brand is meant to be part of an overall protocol. Instructions for that would be with the protocol - and - it's not to be taken alone.

Are you on an abx protocol? Some LLMDs incorporate this with other anti-babesia meds or abx to increase it's effectiveness.

It's really best to get the dosage from whomever is guiding your treatment because dosage depends on what else you are taking.

You can read more about it in this book:

i take mepron and zith with art.

I just switched to this brand of artemisinin. Before this I was taking 400 mg 3x day for three days, then several days off.

Zhang's bottle labeled artesmisinin is actually a mixture of some form of artemesia with astralagus and some other stuff. Nowhere does it say how much artemisinin is in there,so it is hard to compare with other brands. Read his book as Keebler recommends to find out Dr. Zhang's protocol. If you buy his book through the Hepapro company that does his herbs you get a free consultation with him.

I emailed Dr Zhang and he was kind enough to provide this information:

"The Artemisia Capsule we distribute is not using artemisinin as its active ingredient. Artemisinin is old out of date version of the substance and WHO has stopped to recommend its use for treating malaria.

What we use the active ingredient is Artesunate, which is molecular modified substance of artemisinin and is now the first line anti-malaria substance recommended by WHO.

The dose of the Artemisia Capsule contains is every capsule 33.3 mg of artesunate. One day three capsules, so the daily dose is 100mg of artesunate."

Cottonbrain,

Thanks for sharing that. I hope you can read the book - or see the website while you wait for the book to arrive - as this is to be part of a protocol, usually with allicin and also with Circulation P (if I recall correctly). The Circ P may be a support agent that could be dropped (but you would want to ask abou that) while the allicin is a key antimicrobial.

The hepapro product line is one of the very best I have ever used. I am unable to continue that now (due to funds) but when I could I could really tell the quality is top notch (and I have tried nearly all brands of many things). Well worth it, really.

Cottonbrain

Did he tell you to pulse it, 3 or 4 days on and some days off or no breaks? I'm confused my label says artemisia annua 400 mg.

I just started this today. One bottle is a 10 day supply if you take 3 x day.

he didn't mention dosing.

does your label also say astragalus? i think that may be in there too.

somebody out there can tell us about the dosing, i hope (?), but i plan on pulsing mine meantime

i'm confused too, because somewhere i've read (buhner maybe?)that astragalus is an immune booster recommended for new cases of lyme and not chronic cases

help?

Good point, cottonbrain . . . and good memory.

Yes, normally astragalus is not to be used in chronic lyme. However, this very question has come up before and, in the amount per capsule (less than a regular dose), and balanced with other things in the formula (and also from the protocol), this is fine. The other ingredients in this formula help it work better than just the art. alone.

AI#1 is one of the things in the protocol to balance that out, and it can lessen herx reactions.

One more question Cottonbrain, is the art causing my wicked stomach cramps? I'm on alinia as well and have had a little stomach upset, but maybe the combo is too much.
