I live in an old house, too. I talked to a mold remediation guy and he said that these old houses are less likely to take on mold because they were designed to breathe. They were also designed for the water to flow into and out of the basement. I know my basement gets water, but it has drains that drain it right back out.

A problem with old houses can be if you went in and insulated the exterior walls. Again, they were designed to breath so as not to take on mold. Insulation can mess up the vapor barriers and cause mold.

So, moving might not be necessary.

biotoxin.info is about the best information I've seen out there on mold.

Bellow are a couple of books that discuss toxic mold induced illness.

"Surviving Toxic Black Mold Syndrome"

"Mold Warriors"

You can also be exposed to fungi/molds and mold mycotoxins via your diet. Bellow are a few books that discuss that:

"FungalBionics"

"The Fungal Link"
