I have recently been diagnosed withh an adrenal

adenoma after having a so called bad reaction

to steroid shots in my neck for arhtritis. As I

looked back at some previous abdominal cat scans

there was mention of adrenal hyperplasia. I was

wondering if anyone else had this problem.

Also I am looking for a member who recently

attended a lyme seminar in mass who has these

issues. My sister was there and he was talking

about it but she did not get to talk with him.

However he did mention that he was on a few lyme sites.

Hi adirienzo,
Yes..I have bilateral adrenal adenomas. I have an MRI done, at first, every 6 months and now annually to check for changes in size.

Would love to know what was mentioned at the seminar regarding a connection between adenomas and lyme.

Please PM me if I can help. [Smile]

I am not sure what exactly was said as I was not there. But my sister was there and told me of a gentlemen who lives in our area with multiple adenomas linked to lyme dsease.

I am trying to get his attention. I am not sure of his screen name. I have read that adenomas can be linked to infections. As it is part of the immune system in a way.

I have hypercortisol not adrenal insufficency and over the past few years I guess I have had adrenal hyperplasia but now an adenoma.

After my last steroid shot it was a different type of steroid they used and I had a bad bad reaction. Or maybe this is when the lyme got catupultated into my nervous system I don't know I am still trying to figure it out.

I have tested neg for lyme by local labs but my dog was diagnosed with it right around the same time I got sick. I know dogs when they get diagnosed it is between 2-6 monthe after the bite that they start to have symptoms. So I don't know if and when I may contracted it. And I found a tick crawling on my bedroom floor right around the time I started having severe panic attacks.

We don't know if the panic attacks and high bp is from the adenoma and steroid shot or what. Trying to sort it all out. However I did just start doxycycline and it seemed like i was herxing for the first couple of days and now I feel a little better on day 3 but having some tremors.

I want to be tested by igenex just trying to get to the right doc who will take my ins. and order the testing.

I'm so glad you're on doxy. It's soooooo important that you find an LLMD very soon.

My endo does not believe in chronic lyme and knows nothing about it's effect on the body.

I do have adrenal insufficiency but he says the adenomas have nothing to do with the insufficiency. (the adenomas take up half of the adrenal glands and he's telling me they have no affect on the function of the glands)

I can barely sit there and listen to him. Gr-r-r-r!...but I have to have them monitored for changes so I tolerate his insults. [Smile]

Would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to find a lyme literate endo but I think they are "rare birds".

Hope you feel better soon.
