Diarrhea was not one of the symptoms in my household. It doesn't appear on any of the checklists that I see. Hopefully others will chime in. Maybe it is a rare, but not unknown symptom.
Are you on any antibiotic treatments for the babs? Are you taking any nutritional supplements? Many of these could give you diarrhea, particularly the antibiotic.
Hope you feel better soon.

Hi Stefan, I've had LD and probable Babs for over 8 years, and chronic diarrhea. After every gut test for the last 2 years, I finally had a colonoscopy during which they took several biopsies. Turned out I have Lymphocytic colitis.
Symptoms are watery diarrhea and cramping, with some foods exacerbating symptoms. It became seriously unbearable, 10 - 15 times a day sometimes.
It is fairly uncommon, incurable, and no one knows what causes it. Possible causes: viruses, bacterial infections and autoimmune dysfunction. I have no doubt my LD caused this.
During a serious episode, docs prescribe oral steroids, a huge NO NO for Lymies. Otherwise, a gluten-free diet, with other dietary restrictions are all you can do besides Lomotil, Immodium and Pepto, none of which really work for me.
This may not be your problem at all, but I tried to find out for over 2 years why I had this problem; it literally makes you a prisoner in your own home.
Since many abx can cause the big D, my LLMD had to help repair my gut for a few weeks before attempting treatment. It included:
Wobenzyme, L-glutamine, liquid fish oil, florastor, gluten-free diet and staying away from raw veggies. I've just finished my first week of abx and so far so good!
After eliminating parasites, foods, and other gut problems like IBS, this was the last piece of the puzzle. But you must have a colonoscopy with biopsies; you can't see it visually.
I'm hoping when my LD/babs is in some type of remission, this problem will subside also.
Sorry for the long post everyone, but I came here looking for info about this and couldn't find it. Maybe Stefan, you and a few others can use this. I wish you well. Patti

Hi Stefan. What meds are you taking? Some meds can cause diarrhea. Zithromax did for me.
Do you take high-quality acidophilus daily at least two hours apart from your antibiotics? This can help.
I am being treated for Babesiosis and was having diarrhea sometimes, but not constantly. My doctor prescrbied VSL#3 double strength which is a prescription acidophilus. It is a refrigerated powder that you add to water and drink. It has 900 billion bacteria per packet, and it has helped me tremendously. You may want to ask your doctor about it.
