I follow the lyme diet, and eat no breads.

I do however eat organic corn tortilla chips and taco shells b/c i need some type of carbs.

Do they contribute to yeast growth? I stopped taking abx 3 months ago, but my dr still prescribes nystatin.

Unfortunately, yes. Corn is a very bad food anyway. Brings on bloating and inflammation.

Corn is 70% sugar. I slip on corn chips too.

If they have a fair amount of fat in them then they won't be quite as bad, but make sure it's not trans-fat or then you're really screwing yourself.

Yes, they would contribute to yeast, but not as bad as white bread.

In addition to corm causing reactions for many lyme (and inner ear) patients,

Fried chips also are very bad for our brains and our hearts due to old, hot oils. Baked would be better and, sometimes, you can find baked black bean chips that are a nice treat.

Some of the info here helps me. I just knew that I can't do popcorn or corn chips.

So, good to hear that others are not able to also.

Mary's Gone Crackers helps my crunching urges.
