OK, folks - I was dx lyme (stage 3 neuro) in 1999. I was treated until 2003. Then 2 years perfect health. Relapse in 2005. not sure it was lyme but was aggravated by a EB Epstien Barr flare. in 4 months - Back to health for 4 years.

In Feb 2009 had a sinus infection went on ABX for 10 days. Felt fine for a week after and then began headaches, migraines. Then Subtle lyme symptoms came back. Dizziness, anxiety, blurred vision, peripheral neuropathy. lot of neuro stuff.

Since I only tested positive in 1999 with DNA and Brain Spect. I went back on ABX for 30 days.

I think I brewed up a nice batch of Candida. The longer I was on the ABx the worse I felt. So now I have been off Abx for 6 days and back on diflucan I can only tolarate 25gms day. Herx related symptoms.

So what do you think? stay off the ABX? and ride out the Diflucan for another week and see how it goes?

I always had a difficult time figuring out where lyme ended and yeast began.

You may know this, but the blood tests for candida are pretty reliable -- check out your candida levels which can help make a more quantitative assessment. There are many anti-candida therapies, ranging from iodine to humaworm to candida clear to coconut oil...

..I like Candida Clear from NowFoods the best, and it's very affordable.

Blood tests are reliable? My PCP, who is alternative-minded, said they are pretty worthless tests and everyone would be high on them. Not true?

I never heard that candida tests were reliable. Ever.

STay off abx as long as you can while you get the yeast under control.

Follow the DIET as strictly as possible.

Eat proteins and green stuff!!!

Try NSI's Candida Yeast Management [vitacost] along with probiotics and diet and then you should be able to stay on the antibiotics if you wish whilst controlling the candida.

I thank you for your feedback and would welcome more.

I did the simple "spit test" and my saliva went right to the bottom of the glass in just a few minutes and the water turned cloudy.

Anyone belive in the value of a spit test?????

I'm itchy, my eyelids are cracked, eyes water.

Foggy

anxiety, vertigo, come and go. I have recurring headaches. Last night, I had bad calf cramps.
I may need electrolytes since I'm drinking sooo much water.

it's been 6 days off ABX and 5 days on the anti yeast diet. Doing 25mgs of diflucan daily. Feel like crap about 3.5 hours after taking it.

It's all the old Lyme stuff, but I do not think it's lyme. We'll see.

If the candida is very localized, and not yet disseminated, then a blood test may be iffy, at best.

However, blood testing for candida has improved over the years. Here's one of many links that may be helpful:

Note that these studies are older, but still valid.
