I started with my infrared sauna some weeks ago and just did some 6 - 8 minutes the day before yesterday.
I woke up six hours after the sauna with horrible heart racing and also heart pain and extreme muscle twitching all over and jerking muscle in one leg.
Was tired and sleeping all day yesterday.I am fine today. I am not sure if this is a detox due to the sauna or a die off or not related to the sauna at all.
Does anyone else get these reactions after infrared saunas.
Thanks for your input. Karen

I was at a clinic for two weeks. After the first day of treatment, the PVC's / "heart skips" really kicked up. They had an infrared sauna I would use every day and I would experience PVC's while in it. I didn't have the racing heart or muscle twitches, but I felt it was from detoxing.

Not recommended for people with adrenal issues

thanks ott, I did't get heart skips. How long did they have you in the sauna? I had them long time ago, but they are just gone. Probably it was another die off or detox and had nothing to do with the sauna.
Are there tests for adrenals? I do not know if I have an adrenal problem, I am fatigued, is that probably adrenals?

if you have orthostatic hypotension (can't stand up for longer than a few minutes without feeling blood drop) and have fatigue, then you probably have adrenal issues
you can do a test with neurosciences too. it's saliva+urine

How hot did the sauna go? It should stay on low heat the entire time. You are not to get hot, but just feel warm. If you get too hot, get out. Hydrate. Replace electrolytes.

Check to be sure there is absolutely no plywood in your unit. Some have that but that can make patients very ill from toxic glues.
Check the top and the back panels, too.

m0Joey, Why is it not good to use if you have adrenal issues?

Thanks Keebler, I always appreciate your posts and answers so much. Also the one with the porphyrins. It was on a 5, as I like it hot. I ordered electrolytes today. I have a tent sauna from metagenics ( bought from doctor's office) and hope it is not toxic. I also was starting high PH water and taking little tiny bit of bee pollen. So it could be a combination. Next time I will do the sauna at day time, so I can always drink every hour afterwards and keep the temperature low at 3. I have an extreme high load of bugs and toxins and whatever I try is too much. I am not sure if it was a detox or a die off or just dehydrated and missing electrolytes. I keep working on it.

Being in a sauna, even at low 100's, can worsen orthostatic hypotension. POTS is often tied to adrenal issues, so it's an indirect connection. I suppose I should say..if you have OI or POTS (which I have), proceed with caution.

What is POTS? I have low blood pressure, tried adrenal support some time ago, but did not feel any difference.
