I just started treatment for babs two days ago. Malarone 4/day for 3 days and then 1 twice a day after that.
About an hour after taking the four tabs (on a full stomach) I get extremely nauseaus and can't do anything but lie on the couch. It seems obvious to be a side effect of the malarone.
Tomorrow I switch to 1 pill 2 times/day. Does anyone know if the nausea gets better when taking this smaller dose?
Also, for those who got nauseaus from malarone, did you stay on it or switch to something else?

I am currently on Malarone 2 pills 2x day and have been for about 3 weeks now.
I noticed nausea right away, but I could tolerate it.
Before the Malarone, I was on Mepron and had the same side effects.
nausea for me is an everyday problem that I have learned to live with.
As far the the nausea getting better, for me it has.
I am still taking 2 pills a day, I am gonna stick with it because I think it's working better than the Mepron for myself.

Kreynolds - did you start out with a higher dose or the same all along? I am hoping with the decrease in dose the nausea will improve otherwise I will not be able to function for the few hours after taking the pills.
seekhelp - no I am seeing a NY LLMD. Glad to hear the protocols are similar.
