i had a blood test this week for checkup adn the attendant asked "do you take blood thinners?" and i said "uh, no.." she then said "well your blood sure runs fast and looks thin.
i looked at the vial and it did run fast and look thin, so i'm wondering.
i'm not on anything except starting the buhner protocol and vitamins.
so what would cause thin blood. i've always been told my blood was like chili it was so thick and now it's thin.

Herbs could.
Just because it looks that way doesn't mean there's a problem. Ask your dr to run a test to see where you stand.
"Thin" blood is better than thick! As long as it's not too thin.

There are lots of reasons for blood viscosity to change, but keep in mind that blood viscosity (running into the tube faster) is not usually related to coagulation times (anticoagulant therapy, aka blood thinners).
In terms of volume, most of your blood is plasma (mostly water) and erythrocytes (red blood cells). When blood runs into the tube, what you see is mostly related to the size, shape and amount of red blood cells, and how well hydrated you are. The speed that the blood runs into the tube is not a good indicator of coagulation risks (generally speaking).
All sorts of things can effect the flow of blood into the tube - iron deficiency, hydration state, polycythemia, even the amount of time since you last had blood drawn.
Coagulation is effected by other factors like platelet aggregation, fibrinogen levels, genetic conditions and all sorts of activating factors.
Hearing medical personnel make comments like that drives me up the wall. On an unrelated note, if you want blood draws to be a simpler process you can try drinking as much water as you can hold about 30-60 minutes before the draw.

Garlic, fish oil and Vitamin E are all natural blood thinners. Are you on those?
