This is the response I received from Clongen Labs when I e-mailed Lymedocs in reference to the possible co-infection of Filarial Worms.
Dr. K. at Clongen has found a lot of unusual organisms in blood smears.
I (don't know who this is) have been working with him a lot on this. Some of the organisms look like toxoplasmosis and others look like possible MICROFILARIA
He has a lot of work trying to sequel some organisms especially unknown bacteria, but needs University level research help.

Hi Gael.
I am not surprised and I think that the parasites and worms are very much part of this disease. I hope that people will follow your lead and treat themselves in the ways to help rid themselves of the parasites along with the bacteria, fungus and viral issues. I think that the parasites are number one on the list of issues and things to treat. i also though think they are the toughest.
As a matter of fact I am on a Toxoplasmosis combination of medications on top of other treatments you talk about often to treat these guys from as many angles I can throw at them.

gael, thanks for posting what you learned... xox

gael heard back from ILADS HQ and doesn't know how to copy/paste so asked my assistance in doing so; so here goes:
1st reply ... breaking them up as normal for neuros! [Smile]
Filial Worms **************
I find a lot of parasites, including filarial worms, in my practice using ART (Dietrich Klinghardt's form of muscle-testing).
For the most part, there are no commercially-available tests to confirm or deny the presence of these organisms; and the standard "stool O&P" is inconvenient and insensitive even for finding organisms that are in the gut.
I usually treat these people with 6 weeks of 'Para-A,' a botanical extract, followed by three days of Stromectol (ivermectin).
The text books call for just a single dose of ivermectin but I find this to be consistently inadequate - patients come back still with symptoms and still muscle-testing for the same parasites.
I'm not sure if the worms are coming from the tick bites since I'm usually able to at least illicit a history of travel to a tropical destination where the bugs are endemic.
I do feel that parasites and viruses are a big part of why some Lyme patients don't get better; it seems that the immune system simply cannot fight a war on two fronts if one of those fronts is intracellular bacteria.
As much as I hate the way that treating the results of a muscle test - instead of a lab test - puts me further out on the proverbial liumb, I've had enough successes to conclude that I need to place successful treatment ahead of "guidelines."
Lyme docs know better than anyone how dangerous it can be to make a "clinical" diagnosis in the age of lab tests that are often less sensitive than they are thought to be.
In the case of many parasites, however, there simply are no tests available and muscle-testing is just too big a leap for most LD's, who are already feeling exposed.
Hope this helps.....Dr ...... -----------------------------------------
2nd reply
There are some of us who DO address this issue - Clinically O&P's come back negative usually (and I've even seen that happen with collection jars with VISIBLE worms).
There are a number of other docs who address this issue too. I initially learned about the connection from Dietrich Klinghardt MD.
I will tell you that when treated - my/our patients often DO see dead parasites in their stools.
You may pass this on to the patient who emailed you.
YES - I will tell you that the patients who we suspect may also be dealing with filarial parasites and we treat - they typically respond to overall treatment of TBI's better and in less time as well.

3rd reply
Dr. Kilani at Clongen Lab has found a lot of unusual organisms in blood smears. I have been working with him a lot on this.
Some of the organisms look like Toxoplasmosis and others look like possible microfilaria.
He has done a lot of work trying to sequence some organisms- especially unknown bacteria, but needs University level research help.
thanks gael for sharing that they too see a direct connection as stated by no. 2 dr. above! hugs...

Betty,
Thanks For posting these for me. It seems that the LLMDs that follow Dr. K. are more aware of the Filarial Worm/parasite connection.
I will try and learn how to copy and paste
Gael

Gael,
First, thanks for taking the effort to ask this question and I'm so glad to see some thoughtful replies.
---
To copy and paste, just use your cursor to highlight the text you want to copy and then go to your edit mode and select "copy"
then go wherever you want to put it and set your cursor where you want it on that page and go up to the edit mode and hit "paste"
There may be keys that you can hit, too. I use a MAC and my copy key is push down at the same time on the "apple key" and the "c" key. To paste, it's the "apple key" and "v" key together.
--
So that you can always find that link again and also offer documentation of the source when you share text, you can use the same copy and paste technique for the URL (the link, the web address).
But I see that you did that with the link for www.clongen.com . It's the same with text.
Sometimes, though, a pdf or some other sorts of works won't LET you copy. I do believe Klinghardt's latest guidelines are like that. It protects the author so that his work is always as a whole.
--
I find it best to copy important work to my word file so that I have that in my personal computer file (sometimes) easy to find (if I remember what title I gave it).

Keebler,
Thanks for the copy and paste info. For the Clongen link I just typed in the address. I will try your suggestion.
Thanks again,
Gael

keebler, i sent gael instructions too when she sent me the above 3 replies we'll see how good of teachers we are, right? lol Posted by glm1111 (Member # 16556) on :
Bringing this back for Kreynolds and Rambler who need to see why they may be having some of their symptoms. and need to see some Lymedocs that are treating this.
Betty,
I will give it a try, but it actually hurts my head when I try to absorb it. I think I might need someone to just sit with me at my computer and do it that way.
I am sure it's not that hard once you know what to do, Thanks for your help guys,
Gael

yes, it sounds worse than what it is gael.
i'm totally for having someone sit and show you to make you feel comfortable doing it.
many things here i can't do; we all have our problems best wishes....
