Anyone have red cheeks as a symptom of Lyme or any of the co-infections?
My daughter has red cheeks that come and go over the course of the day, usually over her upper and lower jaw area with the center area clear.
She has had this for a long time--prior to us knowing she had TBD--so definitely prior to starting any meds.
I've goggled and "lupus" comes up which scared me, but the rash for lupus is referred to as a "butterfly rash" which seems to cover the bridge of the nose too, and for the most part, I don't see that on my daughter's face, just over the cheek areas that are covering her jaw area.
Anyone have this symptom? Any idea which TBD is causing it?
Thoughts..........
Thanks!

Hey hey mom...
Has she been checked for "slapped cheek" syndrome/disease... aka.... Parvo B-19 virus?
It is found in a number of us with tick borne diseases.
There is a blood test for it from most labs.
Hope it clears up for her...

I'm not sure if she was tested for Parvo. I will have to review her test results.
Is there a treatment for it?

I have seen this with two other teens I know currently have lyme. Both teens treated with IV rocepin. The red nose and cheeks have gone away. I don't know which co-infection it is. good luck. Keep trying.
