I have had this for about 4 weeks now. It came on for me after a Rife session and hasn't gone away.
Sometimes I have it just sitting in a chair and if I get up and walk around, it seems to get better.
Sometime if I'm up walking around it comes on and if I sit down, it seems to get better.
I'm due to Rife on Monday and hope this goes away soon. Not a fun symptom.

Yes, it comes and goes for me. It can be related to the inner ear and come on when my head is to one side. I also have had ataxia which is feeling wobbly like a drunk sailor, and that is not influenced by my head position. When I first started abx and was herxing badly I had this for about a month. I hope you get over yours soon.

Those exact symptoms were on a Mystery Diagnosis episode. The lady felt like she was on a boat or on a rocky dock. She found out she had a very rare disorder of the inner ear.
I have had inner ear problems since becoming ill, but its not like I am on a boat; its more like the room is spinning.

Look up Mal de Embarquement. It might be in one of your nursing books - or a quick web search will help.

Are you taking Ginger CAPSULES, 500 mg - 3 times a day, steady?
that was suggested when you described this a couple weeks ago. Wonder if that is helping. The tea is not strong enough. the capsules have the best medicinal strength and it needs to be done 3 times a day to stay ahead of it.
Beyond that, Mal de Embarquement can be a separate vestibular issue and you might want to consult an ear specialist in case there is something else going on --- however, it is just one of the vestibular symptoms that lyme patients frequently experience.
LIVER SUPPORT is vital here for reasons my painful hands cannot type. The more stressed your liver, the worse your ears will be, though.
And being GLUTEN-FREE is also very helpful. Dairy and corn also can bother those with inner ear issues.

And as I am becoming very ill all of the sudden, I realize the lawn chemicals guys are on the complex and my windows are open. I can't see them, but I hear a motor - and I smell them.
So, before I go barf and pass out for the day, remember that limiting your exposure to chemicals - even perfumed soaps, etc. will help your ears.
Sure enough, now I see the truck driving by. I could rent out my nose as a dectective.

My 10 yr old son had this symptom severly! It would get so bad he would just cry It's getting better with treatment. But it does come back, so I am assuming a herx?
By the way, we did an MRI, CT Scan (looking for brain tumors) and a special ear testing for balance issues before we tested for Lyme.

Yes I have had this for 6 years after Biaxin and a chemical exposure. It is chronic now.
Went to Yale for an evaluation and they didnt find much. They told me I could do vestibular rehab therapy but never followed through with that.

I have this when I am sitting down but especially when I go to bed.
I feel like I am laying down in a boat rocking on waves. I have had it off and on for a few years.

Wow, I can totally relate to all of you! I have had this too. I feel the dizziness more when I lay down as well.
I think the boat-rocking feeling is true vertigo (not just dizziness).

That whirling feeling .. I figured out was side effects from antibiotics I was taking -- minocycline and zithro.
I went off meds for about three weeks, felt great, and then got sick again - Lyme flare-up, but without the veritgo, rock the boat feeling. I realized my Lyme wasn't over. Wishful thinking - I had been on abx for 6 months.
So, went back on the abx and had the off balance feeling again.
Now I have either gotten used to it, or it is diminished as other side effects do, sometimes, after awhile.
It was very irritating!

I have this for the first 10 mins bu only if I close my eyes, when i lay down-
so in order to go to sleep i have to just lay hter forever until my eyes close from exhaustion,
otherwise i'll spin and rock from head to toe.
I've also noticed it from motion too, i can hardly stand to be a passenger in a car anymore, I always have to be the driver...
