I know a child who has this. She has a puffy face, and the sides of her eyes look like they
are being pulled down. Does anyone know what this could be caused by? Could it be related to
Lyme?

I've had extensive problems w/droopy eyes, but not necessarily the puffy face. I hate the droopy eyes, because along w/what you can see, there's what you can't see, which is a really fatigued brain. I seem to have mostly gotten rid of it, and for me it seems to be caused by a combination of babesia and Lyme. When I herx, my eyes droop.

Could be edema and/or allergy. Lots of causes for both of those. I hope they figure it out soon.

forgot to say that the one drug that seems to have helped the most in getting rid of the droopy eyes is roxithromycin, which I'm taking w/Mepron for babesia. I had more of a result w/roxy than w/azithromycin, which i was taking before.

Myestheia Gravis causes droopy eyes.

I've had this since I was about 10. My mom and dad and now my husband can just look at my face and see how sick I am. They don't even have to ask how I feel when my eyes droop and the skin around looks puffy like I cried the night before. I think it started when I got Lyme- one of my first symptoms.

Could be low thyroid, could be Bells Palsy.

It's not Myestheia Gravis because I looked at images on the internet. The eyelids do not droop. It's the outside edges on the side of the eyes that are pulled down on both eyes.

Cushing's syndrome perhaps. "Moon face".
Several causes.

My experience with my son is the same as soleil16, we can tell when he is feeling the worst, he gets kind of a puffy face. It is really subtle, not the kind of thing that a doctor would note, but we can tell. It comes and goes, and this symptom is decreasing in frequency with continued abx treatment.
