i did a bit of yard cleaning yesterday, planting some small liriope in a bed.

also ran the vacuum....so today i can hardly move. my back is out AGAIN...

it's gotten so bad i can barely carry groceries anymore.

i've never really injured it, but it seems the last several years it's just gotten worse and worse.

even riding in a car for long trips just about puts me down for days.

do you have a bad back and can it be caused by lyme?

what do you take for back pain?

Actually, lower back aches were one of my first symptoms but they have since subsided...

Have you tried any of the over-the-counter stuff?

Maybe you could consult with the Tramadol users....

can't take any prescription pain meds except vicodin. darvon/ultram, you name it, i throw it up, or get so dizzy i have to go to bed.

over the counter doesn't touch my back pain.

unless there's something i haven't tried.

I think anyone would have a sore back after what you did.

My dad suffered from terrible back pain for 10 years, it suddenly came and suddenly went away... He's 50 and healthy as anyone can dream, so is it your lyme or not? who knows.

My back hurts a lot especially in the later part of the day. It is worse if I have been gardening or doing something, but still can be bad without doing anything.

I think it is part of the herxing and is the Lyme arthritis that was my first symptom. My feet, my hips, my knees, shoulders sometimes, hands -- all these joints ache and swell.

I take 800 mg of Ibuprophen and that usually does it for the day IF I remember to take it about 4p.m. or so, or if I am planning on doing some activity. It relieves the inflammation but be sure to take it with food.

The only activity that is wonderful is my time paddling around in the therapy pool. Bliss. All joints are supported and that 92 degree temp is so healing. I feel lucky to have access.

This was recommended by a Lymie acquaintance for Lyme arthritis. It is the only exercise I can do without pain.

randi, don't forget the weight of your puppies doesn't help. [Smile]
