I'm going to try the Buhner protocol, but I'm starting first with nattokinase. Having watched 'Under Our Skin', I figure that if biofilms are part of the problem, why not start by stripping them out first? Nattokinase should do the trick.

Of course, I also modified my diet by stopping all sugar except complex carbs like brown rice and millet. That's been difficult.

I haven't started the Buhner protocol yet, but I have started the nattokinase and doing the sugarless diet and notice that I feel like I can breathe a lot better.

My headaches are less severe.

For a couple days, I noticed really painful buzz in the bottom of my spine. My neck stiffened even worse. Then it got better. There was a day when I didn't have a headache. That hasn't happened in a very _very_ long time.

I am still brain-fogged, but I sense some improvement.

I've just received my supply of supplements for the modified Buhner protocol.

I did a spreadsheet of monthly costs:
$150 - $200 every month for the andrographis, cat's claw, smilax, resveratrol, zinc picolinate/gluconate, msm, natto-k, vitamins b and c, fish oil, and turmeric once I get into swing with the full doses. The first month I'll be ramping up a little more each week, but after that, it's pill-cereal-breakfast, pill-salad-lunch and pill-pilaf-dinner.

With the number of pills I'll be taking, it's a wonder they don't include the calorie count on the label! [Smile]

Be sure you buy the right brand of Resveratrol; you know it's not the Resveratrol but the Polygonum cuspidatum (Knotweed) in the Source Naturals brand that is the required herb.

I take all those things that you take, except for MSM and fish oil, plus a lot more, plus 3 antibiotics.

I feel that the Andrographis and Polygonum really help. I wouldn't want to skip any doses, 4 pills each, 3 times a day, although Buhner says 4 times a day.

Buhner says Polygonum is the easiest herb to take ; he says it can be taken every 10 minutes if necessary.

I've come to trust NSI products.
About three of these would be equivalent to one Source Naturals.
Here's the info:

---------------------------
NSI Resveratrol Grape Seed & Red Wine (37.5 mg Resveratrol)

Supplement Facts:
Serving size: 1 capsule
Servings per container: 240

Polygonum cuspidatum Root Extract - 75mg
(providing 37.5 mg (50%) trans-resveratrol)

Red Wine Extract - 25mg
(Standardized to 30% polyphenols - skin and seed)

Grape Seed Extract - 50mg
(standardized to 85% phenolic and 75% oligomer polyphenol)(seed)
-------------------------

Which is the herb that causes the strong smell in your urine?

i think the resveratrol in high doses can do that. can't remember about the ohters.

watch the andrographis and resveratrol -- without food they can really tear up your stomach.

Your NSI brand doesn't give enough Polygonum!

It gives 75 mg!

Source Naturals brand gives 1 gram!

No other brand that i've seen gives that much.

NSI is the wrong brand! Not enough Polygonum!

pamoisondelune - Just doing the math:

The Source Naturals brand is standardized 1000mg at 8% trans-resveratrol.

The NSI brand is standardized 75mg at 50% trans-resveratrol.

To get about the same effectiveness with the NSI brand, I have to take take at least two NSI caps (at 70mg trans-resveratrol) to come close one SN cap (at 80mg trans-resveratrol).

The SN brand is actually 60% less expensive per active dose when I do a search on my favorite supplement supplier.

So until I buy more supplements, I'll double the NSI brand dose.

Thanks for the tip. You rock!

I am noticing it is a little hard on the gut.

But I'm also taking nattokinase, which needs to be taken on an empty stomach, so I've been taking everything an hour before I eat.

I guess I'll take some stuff before eating, and leave the andrographis and resveratrol for when I eat.

Time-taking for pills just got a little more complicated, eh? [Smile]
