I started taking doxy 2 months ago, since then I've noticed that my thumbnails feel 'sore' when any kind of pressure is applied. They are becoming increasingly sensitive, but they 'look' fine and normal. I haven't been sunburned. I'm wondering if anyone else has had sore nails, and if may be related to the doxy, an invisible fungal infection, another lovely lyme symptom, or just a 'random' thing. Thanks.

Hey hey...
That's a new one. I've not heard of it but in no way does that mean it isn't Lyme related... or it is.
Sorry I don't have a good solid answer for you.... but I am trying.

It's the connective tissue under the nails.
Could also be fungal as well.
Take some antifungals...not topical creams, but candida type antifungals and see what happens.
Doxy and antibiotics can cause systemic candida yeast growth.

Actually, I'm doing the AI therapy, and one of the first symptoms that got reversed is my nail problem. Mine had progressed and was very bad.
Don't know the mechanism of what and how it was cleared, but the AI therapy works on body dysregulatins, molds, fungus, chemicals, etc and releases them so the body can work on its own.
This is experimental on this board...so i'm not recommending it yet as a therapy for all, but it has been facinating and good so far for me.
My nails are finally great. And may people doing the therapy report nails and hair problems going away. Even ridges in the nails going away.

Have you picked at anything with your thumbs? Key rings, etc, which under normal circumstances wouldn't be a problem, but maybe now would be?
I too recently noticed this problem...and I was trying to get a key off a key chain that was difficult....
I do tend to have nerve pain elsewhere, so I've chalked it up to irritating my nail beds and they are hurting because of that....but I don't know for sure.

I have also had painful thumb nails due to all of this. It hurts only when I press on them and it only happens once in awhile.
I notice it happens more when I have nerve pain elsewhere, so I figured it was another part of my body where my nerves are affected.
