He had IgG bands 58, 45, 41, 18, and 23.
He also had IgM band 23 show up.

I believe he has congenital lyme, and I only had IgM band 41 show up, and a positive ElISA. Neither of us were tested with a "good" lab.

Any thoughts?

It appears you did the right thing by having him tested. Good work.

These results are something, in my opinion, to pursue further.

I would also check for Ehrlichiosis in this case, if you haven't already... and if he has not been taking doxy or tetracycline.

I don't know his symptoms, but I do hope whatever is going on that he feels better soon.

I'm confused again. When the first nurse called with results, she said there were several bands but not enough to be CDC positive.

Now, looking at it...isn't 5 IgG bands considered CDC positive, or am I missing something?

I believe you need 5 bands on the IgG AND 2 bands on the IgM to be CDC positive.

Your test is IGG positive. I think because you only have 1 IGM positive band that a non LLMD would consider it negative because it is not CDC positive. I think you need one more IGM band to be CDC positive.

It doesn't matter anyway, because Lyme is a clinical diagnosis.

OH... I see. Well, I guess there's a good chance after treatment he will have a CDC positive test.

He has plenty of symptoms to make a clinical diagnosis.

There is no such thing as CDC positive unless it is for surveillance purposes. CDC Dx is CLINICAL and backed up by testing and your husbands testing is more than ample.
