We're waiting 2 weeks (after antibiotic provocation) to retest for Lyme - in the meantime, has anybody found any remedy for hypersensitive hearing?

My son wears 30db gun muffs but stays in pain for the slightest sound.

Any remedies anyone knows of?

Thanks,
Colesmom12

Supplement with magnesium to help hypersensitive hearing.

The Lyme bacteria use up our magnesium, causing a deficiency.
A number of Lyme symptoms can be helped by supplementing with magnesium.

Your son is in my prayers, we're in the same situation here w/ my daughter, she wears bose noise cancelling headphones (36db, I think), as well as earplugs underneath the headphones. Nothing has helped, so far...

God bless.

Carol, thanks for this link.
When I eat just a little of a magnesium supplement my left leg starts to vibrate very bad. Then I also get some muscle twitching.
Everybody else have this problem?

Sound and vibration cannot be fully blocked even with ear plugs AND muffs - as bone conduction plays a major role. Hyperacusis is very common with lyme and magnesium is a major help.

Hyperacusis with lyme is discussed in this thread:
