I have Chronic Lyme and Bartonella. For the past 3 years, I have had an overactive bladder and problems urinating (it wouldn't come out). I have been going to a urologist and we found out through a Urodynamic Study that my involuntary Sphincter Muscle doesn't relax. I also have a very narrow urethra.
I have had stomach pain every day for a couple of months and now whenever I go to the bathroom, the severe stomach pain starts. The pain is in my low stomach and the left side of my stomach and it lasts for hours. Then, I will wake up with the same stomach pain again. I also, occasionally, have visible blood in my urine.
If any of you have ideas as to what this could be, I would greatly appreciate it.

I had those symptoms (minus the blood in the urine) from Lyme itself.
Lyme loves the bladder and an overactive bladder is a common symptom.
Plus Lyme many times affects the autonomic nervous system so that automatic things the body does, go haywire--like sphincter muscles can get sent into overdrive (or underdrive).

There are a lot of bugs that can infect the digestive track. Do you have an LLMD and have you discussed this? I recently discovered I have a lower intestinal overgrowth of Klebsiella, which can get into the urinary tract.

I know that many bartonella people have a problem that the bladder cannot hold the urine, it gets better with treatment. The urethra also can be narrow - because of something is there blocking.

Did he check you for Interstitial Cystitis?? It can affect all the abdominal muscles in the lower abdomen.
Did you mean you have pain in your STOMACH or lower abdomen??

I don't think they did.
The pain is in my low abdomen, upper stomach, and in my entire left side of my abdomen.

Don't underestimate non-tick borne infections/conditions either. Many other conditions become aggravated when lyme is mixed in and the immune system is in overdrive (IMO)...
