My husband went by ambulance to the ER today b/c he was dizzy, shaking and had extremely high blood pressure. The doctor said it was heat stroke and had him on IV fluids most of the day. He is fine now.

The real problem is that this is not the first time we have had to call the ambulance for him. He has passed out a couple of times and had very low blood pressure. Last Sunday he completely blacked out and does not remember our neighbor coming over to visit, nor does he remember anything else about the day.

He has lots of Lyme symptoms too, but refuses to believe he has Lyme although I have it. He had a heart attack two years ago and has two stints.

Anyway, the ER doctor was very receptive to my theory that Lyme is behind his medical problems and gave him a prescription for two weeks of Cefetin, 500 mg. two x a day.

I know he needs an Igenex test, a clinical diagnosis from an LLMD and more abx., but I am wondering if even just two weeks of Cefetin will do any good at all?

Could he possibly have a herx in these two weeks that might indicate he has Lyme?

I have been trying to get help for him, but he just won't accept that he is sick. [shake]

I am sorry to hear about what you and your husband have been through.

I know that you know this, but if it were me, I'd push REALLY hard to get him to go see an LLMD pronto.

I took Ceftin only at first for maybe 3 weeks or so and apparently it did didly-squat because, frankly, I'm still here after 3 years of treatment with IV's and orals.

He could have a herx 3 or 4 days into the Ceftin, but would he believe it was a herx?

He might interpret it that the Ceftin is making him sick, or it is coincidental, etc. So, be ready for that.

He could definitely herx. Just FYI, I take double that dose of Ceftin.

I take 2000mg of Ceftin daily. It seems like a pretty low dose that they prescribed him.

Try to get him to an LLMD as soon as possible.
