Is it OK to take 1-2 200 mg tablets of diflucan weekly to guard against yeast? Is this dangerous and can cause candida-resistance? Any adcice is appreciated.

I would think it would cause resistance. Better follow dr's instructions.
and follow the DIET
Nystatin is a good preventative!

My old LLMD used to Rx one 200 mg tablet every 7 days as a preventive. He never mentioned resistance issues. My new LLMD gave me a 30-day script and said to take it if I 'thought' I had yeast issues. I don't know!!! I'm not a doctor. I don't see a white coating on my tongue so it's not obvious; I just know diflucan helps me feel better when I take it.
I take 3-4 Nystatin pills daily. I didn't get up to 16 pills a day like the doc wanted yet. It is temporary. I may try soon. Need to cut even more sugar out of my diet. I've made big improvements cutting sugar than I did before. No sweets, pop, etc. Now I need to cut out more processed foods to help more.
I don't feel well enough to cook elaborate meals every day and that's what it takes. Posted by Lymeorsomething (Member # 16359) on :
I wouldn't take this stuff unless you're somewhat sure you need it. It can be a lil hard on the ole kidneys...

Diflucan has been shown to prevent biofilm formation and they give it in hopes it does just that in Bb.

I take diflucan 100 mg for 7 days straight if I am having a yeast issue. I take a break from it until I have a flare up and then I take it for another 7 days.
