I've been doing a natural treatment protocol for just less than a month, and I've noticed some improvement, but I've also developed new symptoms.
I get burning feet, worse sweats and neck pain that starts on either side of my spine at the base of my skull, and curves around the side of my neck.
I also have a feeling of pressure in my throat, combined with difficulty swallowing.
And (more scarily)- I've been getting feelings of pressure in my chest (sometimes it's almost painful),
and feelings as if my heart has skipped a beat, or had an extra beat. These only last for a second or two, but they sometimes leave me with a tight feeling in my chest, or short of breath.
At first I wrote it off to anxiety- but it happens out of the blue. It feels really "wrong" and so it can give me anxiety- but I don't think it's caused by it. And it's not related to exercize.
It's not a herx- I've had one already, but it's over now.
But the doctor I talked to wrote it off as anxiety- as I am young, and in good health, and he didn't hear anything wrong with my heart.
Should I be worried?
And should I be changing something in my treatment plan? I'm not scheduled to see my lyme doc for a while- and she's a naturopath, so she could just deal with the treatment protocol.

Do you have babesia?
I only ask because those are some of my symptoms that i attribute to babesia. I do have lyme also so it is just my guess that is the babs causing those symptoms for me.

Hmmm, I get those symptoms too, for me, they seem to be a herx. Herxing can happen in cycles - not just a one-time thing. I seem to herx when I add or change a med AND about every two weeks.
Yesterday, my heart was doing exactly what you describe. Makes me nauseated even. I was laying in bed, not stressed out.
I also have the constantly burning feet. And I've had neck and back pain off and on. I think these are all Lyme or co-infect symptoms.
My night sweats are all but gone since I started treatment. BUT, I've noticed that I get one or two nights of light sweats every two weeks. I think it has to do with die off.
Could be herxing or just that treatment has awakened your lyme in some way and made if fight harder.
Still, I would call your DR if you can. It's always worth checking.

Sounds like a herx to me and definitely some babs symptoms. Neck pain and sweats were classic symptoms for me. The sweats increased with every dose increase in meds for Babs.

You have described my symptoms to a tee. Besides Lyme I have been diagnosed with Bartonella and Babesia. I don't know which co-infection is specifically responsible for which ailment, though.
I do think the burning feet is probably Bartonella.
Were you tested for co-infections?

Hi!
Sorry- I had computer problems.
I haven't been tested for co-infections, but I did call my doctor, and she said she thought I had both Babesia and Bartonella.
She said it's probably a herx, but she also wants me to start on Arteminisn (sp?)
