ok, after one week of no sugar, now i'm not hungry. i mean for anything, just no appetite.

i may munch on veggies, a little bacon, drink a little plain tea, but otherwise, i have to force myself to eat.

is this normal? herx symptom? or just my body readjusting itself.

That happens to me also.

When I herx I generally loose my appetite entirely.
It really could be a herx.

The no sugar and carb diet messes up my appetite also. I always thought it was because of my personality. I absolutely love love love food. It was always there to make me feel better when I felt sick. But for me, if it does not taste good, or becomes too frequent in my diet I stop liking it and if I don't like what I have to eat, then I do not eat.
For me, at that point the eating is a chore and I end up just forgetting to do it.
This is obviously not the case for you, though.

well i've only got three main food groups -- chocolate, bread, softdrinks, and pasta. unless you consider eating out a food group (mcdonalds, chili's, texas roadhouse, etc.)

i think that may be it. i'm mad because i can't eat and if i can't have what I want, then i ain't gonna eat it.

juvenile huh? but right now, i'm just not hungry and i'll be ____ed if i have to eat what i don't want.

yeah, this is making me super grouchy.

and we leave wednesday for taos for a week. imagine being in new mexico and not being able to eat....arrghhh...

Hey Randi, it seems we are going thru the same things. Mine started a couple of days ago. Like you said I have NO appetite.

Nothing looks, smells good. I force myself to eat and I choose very healthy items.

I'm a person who loves food. I read cookbooks like journals, try new foods.

Oh yeah, before I was sick I was going NY for a Culinary Institue degree. Not that you needed the info, but maybe to put into perspective of how this no sugar thing has affected me.

I would try to eat your full caloric intake to keep your health up.

I did the spit test this morning and it looked pretty good. I had a white tongue before starting the Diflucan.

I've lost my appetite recently, related to starting Cipro I think. In your case, it could be a reaction to killing yeast by cutting out sugar. Or just the change in pH as a result of the diet change.

Cutting out sugar does change cravings and metabolism. It is usual after about one or two weeks to no longer crave sugar. This could be related to that if you ate a lot of sugar and carbs.

Watch and be careful. Force yourself to eat some things that are high in nutritional value and don't let it go too long. I dropped to 98 pounds at one point, and I'm suffering from it months later.
